(House of Harkness Infinity Comic I#1 - BTS) - At an unrevealed point in time, Loki was admitted to the prestigious House of Harkness academy, an elite institution devoted to the study and mastery of magic. Entering as one of many young practitioners drawn from diverse mystical backgrounds, they quickly became part of the academy's highly competitive environment. Their early time at the academy was shaped under the strict oversight of headmaster Hiram Harkness, whose doctrine emphasized discipline and control, while instruction from faculty such as Sersi, Malekith, Wong, Selene, and other arcane tutors exposed the students to a wide and often conflicting spectrum of magical philosophies.
(House of Harkness Infinity Comic I#1) - Known as the school's resident trickster, Loki had disguised himself as fellow student Stephen Strange when Headmaster Hiram Harkness welcomed House of Harkness' newest inductee, Wanda Maximoff. After giving Wanda a brief introduction to the academy, Hiram left her in the hands of "Strange," who decided to have some fun at her expense. Noting that the school had not received any new students in years, Loki inspected Wanda before taking her on a fast-paced tour of the campus. However, Wanda eventually pulled away when they arrived at the school's magical zoo, frustrated that she had not received a proper introduction to her new home. Still disguised as Stephen, Loki argued with Wanda before using his magic to push her through a window into the zoo. Upset and unable to fully control her emotions or powers, Wanda directed one of the zoo's creatures, a giant horned lion with wings and a scorpion's tail, toward Loki, who promptly revealed his true identity. Rather than attacking Loki, however, the beast charged into the school's cafeteria, greatly amusing the trickster. There, the creature landed on one of the tables, sending a plate of food flying into the face of Agatha Harkness, the headmaster's daughter, inadvertently sparking a rivalry between Agatha and Wanda.
(House of Harkness Infinity Comic I#2) - With the cafeteria left in disarray and Agatha storming off in anger, Loki hid behind Wanda when the real Stephen Strange entered the room looking to settle a score. Though visibly intimidated by Strange, Loki insisted that his actions had merely been a harmless prank between friends. Unwilling to listen, Strange used his magic to lift Loki into the air and magically strangle him while several students looked on in amusement. Moments later, Professor Sersi arrived to separate the two boys and ordered them to accompany her immediately, presumably to receive detention.
(House of Harkness Infinity Comic I#3) - Loki, now appearing in a female form, attended Professor Malekith's class on Dimensional Treatises and Sorcery in a winter-like landscape. During the lesson, the class noticed newly-enrolled Wanda Maximoff using her magic to change her clothing into a warm winter outfit. However, upon entering, Wanda had placed a hex on the doorway that subsequently affected her rival Agatha Harkness, turning her green. Surprised by Agatha's appearance, Loki reminded her that they had agreed green was his color.
(House of Harkness Infinity Comic I#5) - Several days later, Loki and Nightmare were seen in the school's garden fleeing from several angry students while holding hands. The pursuing students balled their fists as the duo ran away, having apparently done something to upset them. At the same time, Wanda and Jericho were taking a stroll nearby.
(House of Harkness Infinity Comic I#6) - Two days later, while in the school's cafeteria, Loki overheard Wanda receiving an invitation from Jericho to attend the Nocturne Fantastica as his date, the most anticipated House of Harkness celebration in a century. Loki approached Wanda, who was sitting with her friends Nico, Santana, and Shri, and asked if a new romance was budding at the school. Unwilling to share any gossip, Nico asked if Loki was only twelve-years-old, prompting Loki to transform her appearance into that of a twelve-year-old girl, further spooking the group. Just then, however, Stephen Strange whisked Wanda away to meet with Professor Wong. Unbeknownst to the others, Wanda and Stephen had fallen into a trap and were attacked by Professor Declan, who had died five years earlier.
(House of Harkness Infinity Comic I#8) - Loki and Nightmare were seen in the school's library discussing a fire that had occurred during Professor Hela's class, causing her to postpone all exams for the week. Loki was surprised to learn Nightmare had not caused the fire, while Nightmare was eager to discover who was responsible for the epic prank. Shocked by the news, Agatha grabbed Loki's arm and asked what had happened. Loki explained that technically no one had started the fire because it had simply occurred on its own, there was no magical residue and no one had been in the room when the spontaneous combustion took place. This led Agatha to suspect that her father, the school's headmaster, was keeping secrets once again.
(House of Harkness Infinity Comic I#9 - BTS) - Loki and Nightmare attended the Nocturne Fantastica together.
(House of Harkness Infinity Comic I#10) - When the Nocturne Fantastica came under attack by several mysterious demons, both Loki and Nightmare stepped forward to battle the creatures. Loki used magic to conjure a sword and fought while remarking that chaotic destruction was his brand, not theirs, seemingly relishing the surprise attack. While other students and professors joined the battle, it was Wanda Maximoff and Agatha Harkness who combined their powers to confront the largest demon. After destroying the creature, however, the girls were mysteriously teleported away. Unbeknownst to Loki and the others, the demons had been sent by Professor Sersi, who sought revenge against the Harkness family for stealing the ring that had contained most of her power centuries earlier.
(House of Harkness Infinity Comic I#15 (fb) - BTS) - Detecting traces of portal magic, Loki and Nightmare decided to eavesdrop and learned that one of Agatha's ancestors had stolen Professor Sersi's ring of power centuries earlier, using its power to build the House of Harkness academy. Determined to help Agatha and Wanda oppose the headmaster, the pair decided it was the perfect opportunity for a "Team Chaos" collaboration.
(House of Harkness Infinity Comic I#15) - Loki and
Nightmare opened a portal to save Agatha and Wanda from the headmaster
just after he had defeated Sersi. Taking the girls to safety, they
revealed their intention to help them. Accepting Loki and Nightmare's
assistance, Agatha tasked Loki with once again posing as Stephen
Strange in order to distract the headmaster and rescue Sersi while she
confronted her mother to retrieve Sersi's ring; and Wanda revealed the
Harkness family's actions to the student body, inciting a mob against
them.
In the end, Loki returned with Sersi just in time. After Agatha restored the ring to its rightful owner, Sersi regained her full powers and froze Headmaster Hiram Harkness in his tracks. With Agatha's parents no longer in control of the academy, Sersi departed the school.
(House of Harkness I#15 - BTS) - After Hiram Harkness stepped down as headmaster of the House of Harkness, Professor Selene was selected as the school's new headmistress.
(House of Harkness I#15) - Several weeks later, while the students were outside enjoying themselves, Loki was seen alongside Nightmare instigating a dispute between Hellstrom and Strange.

House of Harkness is a digital-first Marvel Infinity Comic that reimagined familiar magical characters in an alternate-universe, boarding-school setting. The series follows a teenage Wanda Maximoff as she enters an elite academy for witchcraft, with Agatha Harkness positioned as her rival. In interviews, writer Preeti Chhibber has explained that the creative approach was to preserve each character's core traits while exploring them in a fresh environment, portraying Wanda as driven and gifted yet out of her depth among more established students, and leaning into both rivalry and friendship dynamics. The story blends Marvel lore with a coming-of-age fantasy rather than traditional superheroics. House of Harkness will be released as a physical graphic novel in July 2026.
One similar coming of age school settings is the X-Men Misfits manga from August, 2009. Strange Academy which debuted in March, 2020 also comes to mind with a similar setting.
