History:
(Daring Mystery Comics #6) - A demon from the Legion of the Damned came to Hollow Bluff and offered the human woman Ella Waltin what seemed to be a normal human infant, but was actually one of the demon's confederates in disguise. The first demon warned Ella that if any harm came to the infant he'd return and pluck the soul from her body.
The next day Dr. Jack Castle was summoned to Ab and Ella Waltin's home to examine the baby and he noticed the baby spoke with an adult's voice. Soon, a series of murders erupted in Hollow Bluff as each night the infant became an adult demon identical to the first demon. In this form, the second demon killed humans as offerings to "His Crimson Majesty." The newspapers called him "the Phantom Killer."
The Fiery Mask investigated the murders and whlie monitoring the Waltin's shack he saw the infant transform into its demonic form. He followed the demon as he attempted to slay a female motorist. The Fiery Mask saved the woman and drove off the demon but the demon returned to the Waltin's shack and killed Ab and Ella. As the demon departed to its home dimension the Fiery Mask followed him through his portal and attacked the two members of the Legion of the Doomed, hurling both of them into the fires of the demon realm.
With the Legion of the Doomed destroyed, "His Crimson Majesty" appeared and cast the Fiery Mask back to Earth.

The being a newspaper called "the Phantom Killer" was a demon from the Legion of the Doomed who took the guise of an infant. The killer's confederate gave him in his infant form to Ella Waltin in Hollow Bluff, threatening to kill her if any harm came to the infant. "The Phantom Killer" began killing all the people of Hollow Bluff, attracting attention from the Fiery Mask, who beheld the infant transform into its adult demon form. As the demon was about to slay a female motorist, the Fiery Mask arrived in time to save her. Ab and Ella Waltin were killed in retribution but the Fiery Mask followed the demons back to their own realm and slew them both, casting them into the flames.

"His Crimson Majesty" was the name the demons called the elder demon whom they served (possibly Satan or an aspect thereof). The humans the Legion killed were meant as offerings to "His Crimson Majesty." When the Fiery Mask destroyed the two members of the Legion of the Doomed in their demon dimension, "His Crimson Majesty" appeared and cast a spell that sent the Fiery Mask back to Earth.
