History:
(Faithful I#2 (fb)) - Laura left her job with a jewelry concern in New York to take a job in Florida as secretary to Mr. Harlow, a jewel dealer. A Mr. Dunn had Laura bring the Buckley Sapphire with her to his estate. At the airport she met Glen Collins, Harlow's chauffeur, who drove her to Mr. Harlow's estate. When she met Mr. Harlow, Laura gave him the Buckley Sapphire. After her first day of work, Glen invited Laura to go on a date with him. Laura enjoyed her time with him and and soon they began regularly dating, going on drives, dancing together, playing tennis and swimming.
Two weeks after her arrival, Glen proposed to Laura, although he warned her he had only a chauffeur's salary to draw from. Laura accepted his proposal. A few days later, Mr. Harlow gave Glen the Buckley Sapphire to transport it to another jeweler. At the jewelers, Glen mused to Laura that they could get married with the money the sapphire was worth. This alarmed Laura, who feared Glen was suggesting they steal it, but Glen claimed he was only kidding. That afternoon, Mr. Harlow warned Laura that Glen had some "funny ideas" lately and he was thinking of firing him. That night, Laura met with Glen and he claimed he was quitting his job and was moving to the west coast for a new job. Glen asked Laura to come with him as his wife and she agreed.
The next morning, Laura packed her things and she and Glen went to a local reverend, who began the marriage ceremony.
(Faithful I#2) - The ceremony was interrupted by the police as a detective claimed Glen was wanted for jewel robbery. Glen told Laura she needed to have faith in him as the police led him away in handcuffs. Laura told the reverend about her past with Glen and her fear that he'd stolen jewels to finance their married life.
Laura went back to Mr. Harlow and he informed her his insurance company had pressed charges against Glen, claiming the stone they received was a cheap imitation. Laura refused to believe this and asked for Mr. Harlow's help in proving Glen's innocence. Mr. Harlow agreed he'd help her.
Laura and Mr. Harlow went to see Glen at prison but Glen insisted he'd only speak to Laura. Laura began visiting him every day and continued to check with the detective to see if there were any other leads on the jewel theft. One day, Glen burst out angrily to Laura that he was tired of hearing about Mr. Harlow. Glen claimed he'd stolen the Buckley Sapphire so they could be married using that money.
Devastated, Laura went to see Mr. Harlow and told him Glen had confessed to stealing the Buckley Sapphire from Harlow's safe. This alarmed Mr. Harlow, who opened the safe to check for himself, as the real Buckley Sapphire was there. Suddenly, Glen and a detective burst into the room and caught Harlow with the sapphire. Glen revealed he'd been an undercover insurance investigator the entire time and had suspected Harlow of embezzling his jewels. Harlow was arrested and Laura was happily reunited with Glen. Glen pointed out their marriage license was still good and they could resume where they left off.

Glen Collins was an undercover insurance investigator who posed as Mr. Harlow's chauffeur as he was suspected of embezzling his jewels. In the course of investigating Mr. Harlow, Glen fell in love with Laura and they in the middle of being married when Glen was accused of robbing the Buckley Sapphire from Mr. Harlow. Glen gave a bogus confession in the hopes Harlow would lower his guard. When Harlow revealed to Laura he still had the sapphire, Glen and the police arrived and arrested him for embezzlement.

Mr. Harlow was the head of a jewelry company who was secretly embezzling his jewels. Mr. Harlow hired Glen Collins as his chauffeur, unaware he was actually an insurance investigator sent by Harlow's insurance company, who suspected him of embezzlement. Mr. Harlow hired Laura as his secretary but when Glen arranged for himself to be arrested for jewel theft, his claim that he'd stolen the Buckley Sapphire from Harlow's safe caused Harlow to open the safe and check, revealing he had the gem and was responsible for giving Glen a fake stone. Glen and another detective arrested Harlow for embezzling gems.
