Powers/Abilities: Killspree has large blades
bound exposed into his forearms and lower legs, as well as small blades
into his hair. He is skilled in several forms of combat, and is a
cunning but cold and emotionless killer, rarely speaking. Despite his
muscular bulk, he is a master of stealth attacks. Killspree has
augmented strength, able to rip a damaged car door off its hinges. His
light
armored form affords him enhanced durability. He has basic knowledge of
the Russian language.

History:
(X-Force I#11 (fb) - BTS) - In cooperation with Canada's covert Department K, alongside certain freelance operatives, S.H.I.E.L.D. put together a strikeforce (dubbed Weapon P.R.I.M.E. (PRototype Induced Mutation Echelon)), of super-powered individuals to be used against super-powered individuals/groups if needed. Initial members included Tigerstryke, Rictor, Kane and Wendigo, with Double Trouble and Killjoy replacing Rictor and Kane duty soon after.
(X-Force I#22) - Covertly seeking more information on Cable, who had since gone missing, Domino and Grizzly, guided remotely by Hammer, broke into the Department K complex in Newfoundland, where they were confronted by the new Weapon P.R.I.M.E. team with members Killjoy, Double Trouble, Yeti (formerly Wendigo) and leader Tigerstryke.
(X-Force I#23) - Weapon P.R.I.M.E. attacked the deceitful duo with Killjoy nearly lethally slashing Domino if not for a warning, then cut Grizzly. Domino's magnesium flare in Killjoy's armored face provided a smoking distraction so that Domino and Grizzly escaped via a sewer duct to their jet. Weapon P.R.I.M.E. were unable to catch them.
(Northstar#1) - Department K's General Clarke was
ordered to take
former Alpha Flight hero Northstar (Jean-Paul Beaubier) out of public
view due to his troubled political past, abrasive behavior and newly
out gay status. Clarke ordered Weapon P.R.I.M.E. (Tigerstryke,
Killspree (formerly Killjoy), Double Trouble and Yeti) to take care of
it.
The team waited
near Beaubier's house and mistakenly attacked departing friend Raul
instead, severely injuring him. They next attacked Beaubier's house,
but he had already left after receiving a warning from Guardian
(Heather Hudson), who had also profiled the team's members for him.
Weapon P.R.I.M.E. eventually caught up with Northstar who, angry that
his friends were being targeted, engaged and countered the team's
assault, including spinning and throwing Killspree into the air. But
Northstar realized he needed to get to Paris for his
friends (part of an elaborate plot by assassin Arcade, who had been
hired
by homophobe Carl Kerridge) and zoomed off, leaving a defeated
strikeforce behind.
(Northstar#3) - Weapon P.R.I.M.E. tracked Northstar to Zuyevo, Russia, where the hero was frantically fighting off circus performers and an audience being mind-controlled by Arcade; the civilians began attacking Weapon P.R.I.M.E. as well. Northstar changed tactics and surrendered to the disbelieving Tigerstryke. Weapon P.R.I.M.E. curbed any lethal strikes against the civilians, and soon Tigerstryke and Northstar destroyed Arcade's signal. The Russians regained their senses and the fighting stopped, but Northstar again shot away before he could be detained.

He sounds very gruff in his
speech, what I consider more American in a 1990s Marvel comics, and so
seems unlikely to be a Canadian citizen IMO, but rather
one of the freelance agents hired by Dept. K and S.H.I.E.L.D. Marvel
Atlas#2 identifies him and his team as heroes.
He could be classed as a mutate due to his
membership of a group with "PRototype Induced Mutation" in its name,
although the blade-bonding augmentation may be sufficient "mutation."
However, he was part of the Toy Biz's "Evil Mutants" line of action
figures, so he could also be a mutant.
Northstar's battle with Weapon P.R.I.M.E. is shown in
a one-panel flashback in Northstar I#2.
Even though he had few appearances, he still scored a Toy Biz action figure in 1994 with "slashing blade arms!" (see right). He really should've had subsequent appearances and backstory; maybe more was intended for Weapon P.R.I.M.E. but lost as the comic market declined sharply about that time.
This profile was completed on 10/29/2023 but its publication was delayed, as it was intended for the Appendix's 25th anniversary celebratory event.
