History:
(Annihilators I#1 (fb) - BTS) - Ikon was one of the Spaceknights of Galador and came to be regarded as their greatest living Spaceknight. She learned about Earth from their predecessor, Rom. After the Spaceknights were bested and infected by the Phalanx, Ikon was eager to make up for their defeat.
(Thanos Imperative: Devastation I#1) - After Star-Lord had sent out a message to champions across the galaxy requesting them to join the integalactic super-team the Annihilators and meet on the space station Knowhere, Ikon dramatically teleported into the station and introduced herself to the others who had come to join the team. She asked them if they were the team she "was supposed to lead."
(Annihilators I#1) - Ronan the Accuser was perturbed by Ikon's insolence at declaring herself their leader but she swiftly knocked him down to prove her power, then started to pick fights with Gladiator and Beta Ray Bill. When Quasar tried to reason with her, she told him that Rom revered Quasar's homeworld, Earth, and the courge of humans. Quasar was flattered, but Ikon kneed him in the groin, saying she was disappointed he was so easily distracted by flattery. She sparred with the Silver Surfer until Gladiator finally observed she was just goading them and had something to say; Ikon told the Annihilators they were handicapped because of their power, being so aware of their threat level that they were constantly holding back for fear of damaging Knowhere. When she wondered what the human phrase was to describe what she'd done, Quasar suggested "Hand our backsides to us?" Ikon affirmed and suggested Quasar's backside was "particularly handleable," embarrassing him. Ikon observed her power level was beneath the other Annihilators, yet she'd made them look ridiculous; she believed the Annihilators were doomed to fail.
Relocating to the Annihilators' quarters on Knowhere, Ikon removed her helmet and continued to belittle the Annihilators, who bristled at her presumption that they required her blessing. Ikon noted that the Spaceknights' old enemies the Dire Wraiths of the Dark Nebula were still a menace and should be faced. Knowhere's security chief Cosmo confirmed there were unusual signals from the Dark Nebula. The Annihilators went to the Keep, a Galadorian stronghold nearby the Dark Nebula and found the Spaceknights there had been slaughtered. They were confronted by a being claiming to be Dr. Dredd the Dire Wraith (actually Klobok the Skrull, impersonating him). The Dark Nebula grew unstable due to Klobok's actions, threatening to restore the Dire Wraits to their full might; Dire Wraiths began emerging from the Dark Nebula to menace Galador.
(Annihilators I#2) - Ikon ordered Quasar to confine the seeming Dr. Dredd but he slipped through Quasar's enclosure; Ikon blamed Quasar. The Annihilators left the Keep and went to battle the Dire Wraiths on Galador. As Ikon explained how the Black Sun empowered the Dire Wraiths, Quasar was confident they could seal the Dark Nebula again; Ikon said she could see why Rom loved an Earthling and suggested she always wanted one of her own. Beta Ray Bill contained the Black Sun's light while Ronan stopped the false Dr. Dredd. As the Annihilators met with Brandy Clark to learn how the Dark Nebula had opened, suddenly Volx the Wraith Queen appeared in the room and attacked them.
(Annihilators I#3) - Volx renewed the light from the Black Sun; Ikon told Quasar to contain the energies from the Black Sun. The Silver Surfer defeated Volx and determined to stop the Dire Wraiths they would have to achieve a cosmic balance to restore it and the Black Sun to their original orbit. The Annihilators escorted Volx with them into Limbo to find Wraithworld, where the local Dire Wraiths rejected Volx as their queen. Having offended Immortus by entering Limbo, the Annihilators were attacked by his Army of the Ages and servant Tempus.
(Annihilators I#4) - Ikon defended Volx from the Army of
the Ages while Quasar convinced Immortus to let them accomplish their
mission. The Annihilators brought Wraithworld back into its original
orbit, then discovered Dr. Dredd had been Klobok the Skrull all along,
attempting to remake the Dire Wraiths into Skrulls. The Annihilators
fought Klobok's forces until Volx apparently slew herself and Klobok.
Ikon was annoyed when Quasar, the Silver Surfer and Ronan used their
powers to bind Galador's sun with the Black Sun, but the Silver Surfer
told her the Galadorians would have to learn to live with the Dire
Wraiths. When matters on Wraithworld and Galador had been settled, the
Annihilators returned to Knowhere and reported in to Cosmo, when Cosmo
told them a sentient black hole had attacked galaxy K-123. The
Annihilators set off to face the threat.
(Annihilators: Earthfall I#1) - The Annihilators and Cosmo went into battle against a fleet of warships commanded by the Universal Church of Truth. After defeating them, Cosmo scanned the mind of the church's Matriarch and discovered they had a base on Earth disguised as the Life Science Institute and were raising the deceased Adam Warlock's other self the Magus back to life. The Annihilators went directly to Earth and attacked the Life Science Institute. During the fight, Ikon continued to flirt with Quasar. The attack on the facility drew the attention of the Avengers, who misunderstood the Annihilators' purpose.
(Annihilators: Earthfall I#2) - While the other Annihilators fought the Avengers, Ikon pressed Quasar forward, reminding him their mission was more important. As Ikon and Quasar fought deeper into the facility, the true nature of the people there became clear to the Avengers and they assisted the Annihilators. Arriving where the Magus' cocoon was kept, Ikon attacked the cocoon, only to find it empty; the Magus had already emerged in the body of a child and had placed dozens of other small children into a group consciousness.
(Annihilators: Earthfall I#3) - The Annihilators and the Avengers incarcerated the Magus' bodies but the Magus soon escaped his cell and spread his influence into people across Earth. Ikon believed they should kill everyone inhabited by the Magus but most of the others disagreed. Soon, Ikon detected an armada of starships belonging to the Universal Church of Truth arriving above the Life Science Institute facility. Ikon joined the Annihilators and Avengers against the church
(Annihilators: Earthfall I#4) - The Magus took up residence inside of Gladiator and tried to draw energy from all those it had controlled into Gladiator's body but Ikon stabbed Gladiator in the back. She implored Quasar to kill the Magus by killing Gladiator but he faltered, so Ronan helped Ikon drive all of the Magus' energy out of Gladiator and into a receptacle Iron Man had prepared, containing the Magus and sparing Gladiator. The Annihilators left Earth and placed the contained Magus inside the space/time distortion called the Rip.
(Avengers V#16) - Ikon and other Spaceknights were seen flying in the skies of Galador.
(Infinity I#1) - Galador was attacked by the Alephs. Ikon and other Spaceknights fought the Alephs but suddenly the Alephs' masters the Builders appeared in the sky and unleashed a cataclysmic blast that destroyed Galador.
(Avengers V#21) - Ikon joined the surviving Spaceknights in battling alongside Centaurians on Centauri VI against the Alephs.
(Thanos: The Infinity Revelation I#1) - Ikon joined the Annihilators in exploring a planet where the extraterrestrial Kalicor was performing a dig which led to the holding place of the Kilzarra, a powerful reality-altering item. While Ikon searched the dig site, she was accosted by Thanos and Adam Warlock, who had come looking for the item. Thanos and Warlock easily shielded themselves from the blasts of Ikon's spear, then Warlock drained Ikon's cybernetic armor of all her power, rendering her inert; he removed her helmet so she wouldn't suffocate. The other Annihlators confronted Thanos and Warlock but similarly easily defeated.
(Imperial I#1) - Ikon went to the Underbelly, the lowest levels of the Fulcrum space station and had a drink in a bar.
Comments: Created by Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning and Miguel Angel Sepulveda.
Because Marvel doesn't own Rom, Ikon was created with a rather similar visual to make up for that loss.
