History:
(Marvel I#3 / 2 (fb) - BTS) - In 1939, weapons magnate Argno Gwace
sought the blood of the seafaring Namor the Sub-Mariner to create an
immortality serum and arranged a plot to lure Namor to him by sending
an anonymous invitation stating "Meet me where no man other than
yourself may go." to US Naval Intelligence and suggesting Namor meet
his agent, Hong Kong Lil, at Madame Jin Ling's saloon on the island of
Anu Vatu. With Naval Intelligence curious about the message, Namor
decided to disguise himself as a sailor in a pea coat and white hat to
meet Hong Kong Lil.
(Marvel I#3 / 2 (fb)) - Instructed to be looking for
a seaman in white cap and blue pea coat, Hong Kong Lil entered Madame
Jin Ling's and walked her way down the saloon bar looking for the
disguised Namor. Along the way, she was stopped by the sailor Old Salty
Jim, who attempted to romance her. Noticing the situation, the
disguised Namor warned Old Salty Jim to leave the lady alone but the
drunken Old Salty Jim instead picked a fight with Namor. Upon punching
Namor, Old Salty Jim destroyed Namor's disguise and, recognizing him,
called more men to help in taking Namor down as the aquatic hero
suggested Hong Kong Lil get behind him. When several ne'er do wells
appeared, Namor asked Hong Kong Lil to hold his coat as a full bar
fight broke out. Namor easily defeated Old Salty Jim and his cohorts
and after defeating a man with a gun, Namor flew Hong Kong Lil outside,
wishing to take her away from all of the violence. Once outside on the
docks, Hong Kong Lil provided Namor with the information on the meeting
coordinates from the message and the two said their goodbyes with Namor
bundling Hong Kong Lil up from the chilly weather with his pea coat and
hat disguise. Namor thanked Hong Kong Lil for the information and as he
flew away to get answers for Naval Intelligence, Hong Kong Lil thanked
Namor for fighting for her and wished him good fortune.

It's unclear whether Hong Kong Lil
truly knew what Argno Gwace's true ambitions were or if she were just
sent to meet Namor with no actual knowledge of what Gwace was up to.
Regardless of how much Hong Kong Lil knew, she was nonetheless smitten
by Namor after he defended her in a bar fight...

Madame Jin Ling's
Madame Jin Ling's was a saloon on the island of Anu Vatu that was
patronized by numerous sailors. When a disguised Namor was to meet Hong
Kong Lil there to receive final coordinates on where to meet in a
message he had earlier received, a bar fight broke out when the drunken
sailor Old Salty Jim tried to romance the uninterested Hong Kong Lil.
After Namor defeated an armed patron, he flew Hong Kong Lil outside of
Madame Jin Ling's to receive the message she had for him.
Old Salty Jim
Old Salty Jim was a sailor drinking at Madame Jin
Ling's saloon on Anu Vatu when he noticed the sultry Hong Kong Lil
enter the bar. As she made her way down the bar to meet with the
disguised Namor the Sub-Mariner, Old Salty Jim attempted to romance but
she spurned him. Not taking no for an answer, Old Salty Jim continued
tried to romance Hong Kong Lil until the disguised Namor intervened,
threatening Jim. Unafraid and unaware of Namor's true identity, Old
Salty Jim punched Namor, shredding Namor's disguise and revealing the
hero's true identity. Recognizing the hero and calling him a freak, Old
Salty Jim summoned some of the other patrons to take down Namor but
Namor easily defeated all of them and left the bar with Hong Kong Lil.
