Powers/Abilities: More than four storys tall,
Homer can take large strides and so is proportionally faster than a
human at walking pace. Although showing no extra musculature, it's
assumed he has the proportional strength of a human for his size. His
intelligence is at the slow scale and he demonstrates no fighting
abilities. He is patient and ticklish.

History:
(Comedy Comics I#34/5 (fb) - BTS) - Through
unrevealed means, the giant Homer came to wander the hills near a city.
By chance, a crook who saw opportunities everywhere came across Homer
and convinced the giant that he could be his agent. He leashed Homer
with a long chain and led him into the city, but adults who saw Homer
dismissed him as an immature illusion. The crook took Homer to various
entertainment outlets to hire Homer out, but all disbelieved the notion
and refused to see the giant. Frustrated, the crook angrily sat on
Homer's shoulder and dropped incendiary matched on the locations that
had refused him; simplistic Homer was oblivious to this as he wandered
around the city under the crook's guidance.
(Comedy Comics I#34/5) - Leading Homer on foot, the
crook bumped into the child Jack, who had read of the fires plaguing
the city. Picking the child up to be at nose level, Jack suggested the
duo become detectives to find out the cause of the fires. The crook
played innocent and went along with Jack's plan, but the suspicious
Jack spotted the foolish crook dropping another match. Jack chased the
crook around Homer's shoulders and inside the giant's shirt, tickling
him. Eventually, Jack called for Homer's help and the crook was
captured and wrapped in the chain. The firebug was presented to a
nearby policeman and the crook confessed everything. Baffled, the
policeman accepted the confession. Soon after, Jack convinced the
police station's sergeant to feed Homer, although all the police
officers allowed themselves to see was an unusual-looking incinerator.
Comments: Creators are not credited.
Where did Homer come from? He could be a lost wayfarer from the Ten Realms or from Otherworld. Simplistic in nature, he could easily have wandered off.
Of course, the obvious reference here is to Jack (Spriggins) and the giant from atop the giant beanstalk from old English folklore, but there are no further suggestions beyond this.

Jack was a child who read the local newspaper
covering various fires in the city. He chanced upon the crook acting as
an agent for Homer the giant. Jack immediately thought that Homer could
help in solving the mystery of the fires and the crook, secretly guilty
of the fires, played innocent and agreed to help the pair. Jack was
suspicious as he sat on Homer's shoulder and witnessed the crook
foolishly drop another match on a carnival that had refused him. Jack
chased the crook around Homer's shoulders and inside the giant's shirt,
tickling the giant, until Jack told Homer to nab the crook. Jack
presented the bound criminal to the police and organized to have the
hungry giant fed by the police, although the disbelieving officers
refused to see a giant (because that would be immature) and instead saw
an unusual-looking incinerator.

what they saw), the crook saw opportunity. He leashed Homer with a
simple chain and led him into the city. The crook intended to act as
Homer's agent, but each entertainment venue refused him, as they
dismissed the idea of a giant. Seeking revenge, he sat on Homer's
shoulder and dropped matches at the venues, causing fires, as the
oblivious giant wandered the city. By coincidence, the crook bumped
into the child Jack, who was keen to solve the mystery of the fires.
Homer agreed to help; the crook played innocent and went along with
Jack's plan, but was caught dropping a match. Jack chased the crook
around the giant's shoulders and inside Homer's shirt, tickling the
giant, until the crook was caught and chained up. Homer dubbed him
"Mister Crook." The crook was handed over to a nearby police officer
and the criminal confessed everything to the baffled officer.
