History:

(Crime and Punishment: Marshal Law Takes Manhattan (fb) - BTS) - Hank Hogan was a hero of some sort. He wore a costume with an ant-like motif, although he specifically referenced controlling termites.
    Many of the heroes of his era were mutated via operations from SHOCC (Super Hero Operational Command and Control).

(Crime and Punishment: Marshal Law Takes Manhattan (fb) - BTS) - Hank's wife, presumably a fly-based super hero (if she existed), allegedly began turning into a fly.

(Crime and Punishment: Marshal Law Takes Manhattan (fb) - BTS) - Under unrevealed circumstances, at the age of thirty-eight years, Hank was committed to the Institute, an asylum for mentally disturbed super heroes.
    Many heroes apparently who were committed there had gone insane from their powers and experiences and went on killing sprees or other such acts.hogan_hank-87113-full-helmet

(Crime and Punishment: Marshal Law Takes Manhattan) - In hopes of being accepted into their midst, Hank Hogan appeared before and introduced himself to a group of heroes who were already present there.

    His alliterative name was taken as a good start, and when he admitted to being a super hero, he was told he had done well by the Lord of Valhalla and welcomed to Institute by the stretching man who seemed to be their leader.

    The stretching man discussed how he and his wife (who may or may not have existed) dealt with their mental issues, but Hank explained that his wife was the problem, as she was turning into a fly, with "great bug eyes...and white stuff pouring out of her mouth."

    Walking away from Hank, the stretching man told him that they would talk about that later, and the Prince began telling him about his own problems, which were worse, as his people were allegedly dying from the pollution of air-breathers like Hank.

    Further discussion was interrupted by the arrival of the nurses James and other other and a number of orderlies, who announced that it was time to take their medications.

    Hogan and the others apparently cooperated and took their medications, except the Master of Magic, who attempted to resist and had to be restrained for a shot. At the nurse's request, the group confirmed that they had all emptied their bladders, and she advised them the specialist would be there to see them soon.

    Hank Hogan was later present when the Persecutor appealed to the group for inclusion, but he was denied, as he didn't have any super powers. When the guards tried to take him away, however, the Persecutor took one of their guns and shot his way out of the room. Hogan joined the other heroes in escaping the room as well.

    After Marshal Law entered the Institute, seeking to terminate the Persecutor rather than allow him to escape justice within the Institute, Hank Hogan joined the other "super heroes" in charging Marshal Law en masse. Hank was swiftly punched down.

    As Marshal Law defeated and captured the Persecutor, Hank joined the other "super heroes" in heading up to the top floor, where the water tank was released by the Human Inferno, who was seeking to extinguish his constant flames.

    Hank and the others were swept out of the skyscraper building by the onrushing waters.

    As he fell, Hank at least claimed to see his faithful termites waiting for him on the ground below, and he called to his "little brothers" in their millions to form a trampoline to save him.

    No termites were seen as Hogan crashed to the ground on his back, and his helmet (apparently still containing his head was sent flying). Most of the other "super heroes" similarly crashed to the ground despite their perceived means of saving themselves.hogan_hank-87113-skull

    Hank Hogan was clearly a parody of Ant-Man (Hank Pym).

    Other obvious parodies include Human Inferno (Human Torch), Lord of Valhalla (Thor), Master of Magic (Dr. Strange), Old Glory (Captain America or any other patriotic hero), "Prince" (Namor the Sub-Mariner or Aqua-Man), "Wanderer" (Silver Surfer), archer (Hawkeye), blind hero (Daredevil), spider-man (hmmm...Spider-Man), stretching man (Mr. Fantastic) and his possibly non-existent wife (Invisible Woman).
    There were also a guy with a helmet and radiation symbol on his chest, a guy with a flame symbol on his chest and looking somewhat myth-based, a green guy with red circle symbol on his head, another patriotic-themed hero, and some orange guy (who seemed reminiscent of Adam Warlock). Other than the last guy, I assumed the others were all parodies of DC or other non-Marvel characters, but who knows?
    Someday (in theory), I will circle back cover the other Institute characters, and all of the unidentified ones will be part of an Institute profile.
