History:
(Super Rabbit Comics#11/3 (fb) - BTS) - Head of the
Hemlock Toothpick Co. and considered the "toothpick king", Mr. Hemlock
(disguised as a woman) and his two henchmen went on a city-wide crime
spree, stealing as many wooden clothespins (or clothes pegs) as they
could because Mr. Hemlock needed more wood to turn into toothpicks.
(Super Rabbit Comics#11/3) - Super Rabbit chanced
upon the increasing number of people, even stores, whose clothespins
had been stolen. To trap the thief, Super Rabbit used his strength to
whittle a large tree into a giant bag of clothespins. Loudly announcing
his big stash was for sale, Super Rabbit was soon accosted by
the gun-wielding Mr. Hemlock in a veiled woman's disguise. Restricted to
his
chivalrous code of never hitting a lady, even though "she" shot him at
point blank, he decided to cooperate and later return the stolen goods.
But as they proceeded, Hemlock grabbed more clothespins from people,
making the victims think Super Rabbit was in league with the thief.
Hemlock
ordered the hero to dump the big bag of clothespins down a building's
chute and then fled. Chased by angry women missing their clothespins,
Super Rabbit escaped down the chute and discovered the villains loading
clothespins into a giant machine that whittled them down to toothpicks
(Hemlock remained in his female disguise). Quickly
understanding the situation, Super Rabbit knocked out the henchmen.
Hemlock tried vainly to incapacitate the hero, but fled when he saw
Super Hero impervious to a buzzsaw. Super Rabbit stepped on the dress'
hem and pulled away the veiled hat, revealing the villainous man
underneath. Super Rabbit flew Hemlock and his henchmen to the police
to be charged. (Immediately after, Super Rabbit added glue to the
toothpick machine and dropped in the toothpicks, and the machine spat
out clothespins--don't question physics!).
