Powers/Abilities: Jean Grey is a powerful mutant telepath and telekinetic.
Her powers were greatly enhanced by
the gamma metamorphosis. Jean was able to move every object in the room
in a whirlwind as routine practice and became capable of matter
manipulation on a molecular scale, manifesting a new costume for
herself out of thin air.
She presumably absorbed the Hulk's superhuman strength, stamina and durability.

History: (Savage Hulk II#1-2 (fb) - BTS)
- Jean Grey led the same life as her Earth-616 counterpart until
shortly after Professor X was awaken from a coma by a device created by
Bruce Banner.
Having experienced a psychic echo of his spiritual torment, Xavier desired to help Banner in turn by using his own device, which required a telepathic component to function properly. The X-Men tracked down Banner and returned to his secret laboratory in the Nevada desert. The device had proved ineffective on Banner before, but this time Professor X offered to guide its matrix telepathically.
(Savage Hulk II#2) - Jean's reality diverged from Earth-616 at the moment when Xavier entered a telepathic link with Banner. He experienced mental resistance from the Hulk persona and warned Jean to stay back. Marvel Girl stepped in to help regardless, and the feedback from the device unexpectedly transferred Banner's gamma energy to her, transforming Jean into a jade giantess.
(Savage Hulk II#3) - Her abilities enhanced by gamma,
Jean manifested telekinesis on a scale never seen before. Professor X
tried to telepathically calm her down, but Jean said that her
personality and temperament were not altered, and that she was merely
flexing her newly enhanced psychic powers. Her Marvel Girl costume was
torn to shreds, and Jean used matter manipulation to create a new one,
while also taking Lorna's headdress for herself and changing its color
to red. The X-Men complimented Jean's new look, and Xavier worried that
they were under her mental control.
In response to this telepathic
accusation, Jean pulled Professor X out of his wheelchair and slapped
him on his face. Jean rejected the idea that she needed to be fixed by
Xavier or by anyone else, refusing to subject herself to any extensive
testing. The other X-Men took Jean's side, tired of being controlled by
Professor X.
Before their argument could resolve, Banner's laboratory was breached by robots of unfamiliar design. Jean ordered the X-Men to attack and dropped Xavier, who was carried to safety by Bruce Banner.
(Savage Hulk II#3 - BTS) - On Earth-616, these events played out in Banner's mindscape after Xavier linked minds with him and collapsed. Jean Grey was not changed, but the robot attack was real, orchestrated by the Leader who was after Banner. Caught off-guard, the X-Men were captured by the time Professor X woke up.
Comments: Created by Alan Davis.The story in Savage Hulk II#1-4, published in 2014, takes place between X-Men I#66 and X-Men: The Hidden Years#1. After the Prologue recapping X-Men I#66, the main story in X-Men: The Hidden Years#1 picks up three days after Professor X woke up from the coma, while in Savage Hulk II#1 it is said to have happened only hours earlier.
