History:
(Justice I#21/2) - Harvey Gordon was a detective in the state attorney's office out of Jefferson City, Missouri. When a series of payroll robberies were performed in St. Louis, police captain Alvin Bard asked Gordon to help expose the criminals responsible. Gordon agreed he'd go undercover and arranged to be at the River Bar, instructing the police to arrest him on fake charges.
That night, Harvey went to the River Bar and police detective Crawley picked him up on armed robbery charges. Harvey made a bit of a scene for the benefit of other patrons watching in the bar, in case they were connected to the robbers. When Crawley brought Harvey to the police station, Bard interviewed Gordon and he asked if he had a criminal record in Bard's files. Bard confirmed he'd forged a rap sheet that included breaking and entering in Kansas City, suspicion of robbery in Joplin, four arrestes in Jefferson City and a rogues' gallery photograph for his file.
Harvey's bail was paid for by two men who escorted him roughly to meet Victor Roberts, the gang leader. Victor had already stolen Harvey's file and was impressed by his criminal record, then offered Harvey a place in his gang to participate in the payroll robberies. Harvey agreed to join the gang and sent word to Bard that he'd found the robberies but still needed to locate the inside man.
A few nights later, Harvey shadowed Victor on a trip to the Farrington Hotel, where Victor met with Paul Bigger, the inside man. Harvey let Bard know what he'd learned. Victor assembled his gang and told them their next job would be to rob the payroll from the Marchison Warehouse the following evening. To prevent any leaks, Victor refused to let any of his gang out of his hideout until the job. When the time came for the job, Harvey lingered behind the others so he could quickly sent a telephon warning to Captain Bard.
As Roberts' gang broke into the warehouse to steal the payroll, Paul Bigger arrived and shouted a warning to Roberts that there was a detective in his gang. Robert immediately realized Harvey was a detective but Harvey fought back against Victor's men. As the police were arriving, Roberts tried to flee, only to be shot to death by Bigger. Bigger believed he was clear, thinking Harvey had been killed by Roberts' gang, but Harvey escaped the warehouse alive. With Bigger arrested, Harvey planned to return home to Jefferson City.

Alvin Bard was a police captain in St. Louis, Missouri. When Victor Roberts' payroll robberies incensed local businessmen, Bard promised to end the robberies within a month or he'd resign from his job. Bard brought in Harvey Gordon to go undercover and find out who was giving Roberts' inside information. Bard helped Gordon by arresting him on false charges to establish his reputation as a supposed criminal. Bard was shocked when the inside man proved to be Paul Bigger, who had been one of his friends. Captain Bard and his men killed Roberts' gang and arrested Bigger thanks to Gordon's information.

Paul Bigger was a businessman in St. Louis, Missouri who was in a criminal partnership with Victor Roberts. Mr. Bigger would supply inside information to Roberts to assist him in robbing payrolls. Bigger was known as "Cowan" in the underworld. When Bigger realized there was an undercover detective in Roberts' gang who had sent information to Captain Bard, Bigger went to the Marchinson Warehouse and shouted a warning about the detective to Roberts. Bigger then murdered Roberts during the robbery so Roberts would be unable to finger him. However, Roberts implicated Bigger with his dying breaht and Gordon survived the shootout and implicated Bigger as Roberts' accomplice; Bigger was arrested.

Victor Roberts was a gang leader who obtained inside information from Paul Bigger to perform payroll robberies in St. Louis, Missouri. When Victor heard of Harvey Gordon's supposed lengthy criminal record, he arranged to have him released on bail then recruited Harvey into his gang. When Victor led his gang to steal the Marchinson Warehouse payroll, Gordon alerted Captain Bard. Realizing he might be implicated for his involvement, Bigger went to the warehouse and shot Roberts as he was fleeing the building, ensuring Roberts wouldn't be able to finger him as his accomplice. However, with his dying words, Roberts identified Bigger as his ally.
