History:
(Night Thrasher I#16) - Flashburn was hired by
unidentified lords of a New York-based drug cartel to protect their
incoming shipments of narcotics. Night Thrasher showed up to oppose
Flashburn. Although Flashburn began to project flames at Night Thrasher,
Night Thrasher's armor provided sufficient protection for him to quickly
strike Flashburn in the face with a truncheon then grab him by the
wrists and bury his gauntlets into the pavement of the street. This
caused the power in Flashburn's suit to back-up as it had nowhere to
release, finally causing an explosion that knocked Flashburn across the
street, apparently badly damaging the suit.
Before Flashburn could resume the fight Night Thrasher showed him photographs which were presumably of him in his civilian identity in a compromising position. Flashburn incinerated the photographs but Night Thrasher informed him he still had the negatives. Flashburn asked what Night Thrasher wanted and the hero answered that Flashburn had to ditch his mask and get out of town, promising that if he ever heard about Flashburn committing crimes in this or any other identity the photographs would be sent to his wife and children. Surprised and frightened by Night Thrasher's methods, Flashburn agreed and stalked off.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Flashburn should not be confused with:

Vinnie "The Edge" Entman was apparently one of the drug lords who hired Flashburn to protect his incoming drug shipments. After Night Thrasher blackmailed Flashburn into abandoning his job and costumed identity he next confronted Entman and offered him a briefcase of money if he retired from crime in Miami Beach. Frightened of Night Thrasher, Entman agreed.
