First Appearance: Incognito#3 (April, 2009)

Powers/Abilities: Firethunder can breathe fire, projecting it for at least 100' and with enough heat/intensity to blow up a car on impact.

    He presumably has some limitation, but he has been shown to project multiple blasts in rapid succession.

    It's unclear whether he has any additional abilities.

History:
(Incognito#5 (fb) - BTS) - Firethunder presumably possessed superhuman powers as a result of being descended from someone exposed to unidentified extraterrestrial energies in the early 19^th Century.

(Incognito#5 (fb) - BTS) - Presumably while both were employed in Black Death's gang, Firethunder had a history with Xander and Zack and Xander Overkill. At the time, Zack considered them to be mid-level field operatives. 

(Incognito#3 (fb) - BTS) - After Zack Overkill -- who had turned state's evidence against his former allies and had been in the witness protection program -- surfaced again, the Black Death (although imprisoned) sent agents, including Firethunder and Ajax after him.

(Incognito#3) - Equipped with something to track Zack Overkill, Firethunder rode as passenger while Ajax drove, directing him via the device. Ajax asked if he had the camera handy, but Firethunder assured him that he and the Overkill boys went way back and that he would recognize Zach when he saw him.

    Ajax advised him that their orders were to watch Zack and send intelligence to Dr. Lester, but Firethunder asked if he didn't think the Black Death would look kindly on them killing a traitor to the organization; he further told Ajax not be such a p^$$y.

    Soon after, they located Zack just after he had left the car driven by his friend Farmer, and Firethunder projected a fiery blast that blew up the car and presumably slew Farmer.

    Zack was knocked off of his feet, and Ajax held his gun on him while Firethunder climbed atop Ajax's car, telling Zack, "Long time, no see."

    He then projected a fiery blast that blew up another(?) car near Zack, at which point Zack fled into the mall.

    Considering that if the organization was after him, they'd have sent some heavy-hitters, rather than these two, Zack put a silk stocking over his head, loaded a shotgun from a gun store, and shot Ajax in both eyes, killing him, as he approached.

    Meanwhile, Firethunder set civilians on fire as he ran into the mall, telling them to get out of the way. When Zack aimed at him from above with Ajax's energy blaster, Firethunder shot a fiery blast at him, causing him to drop his gun, which exploded when it fell to the floor by his feet.

    Taking advantage of the distraction, Zack jumped down, kicking Firethunder to the ground and then punching him again before asking why he was there and if "they" (Black Death's organization) had sent him. Telling Zack, "Screw you," Firethunder breathed fire at him.

    Singed and his mask burnt off, Zack realized that he wouldn't get anything out him and broke Firethunder's neck, killing him.

    This is a very cool series. Give it a read!

Earth-81299 Early 19^th Century asteroid or ship crashed in New England, its energies empowering escaped convict Kenneth Lee as the Black Death and affecting the soldiers who pursued him and anyone else who came upon the impact site. Their descendants became early 20^th Century science heroes such as Professor Zeppelin and Lazarus. “Triplets” Xander, Yuri and Zach Overkill were derived from Lazarus’ bodies that he had used to seemingly revive from the dead. Incognito #1 (2008)

    Zack suspected that Firethunder and Ajax had been sent by someone other that Black Death's organization, but we saw Dr. Lester with the device to track Zack's energies, which Firethunder was later seen using. I read the series, but I only reviewed this issue and parts of #5 for this profile. Let me know if I missed anything.

    His speech balloons were fiery-shaped, but it's unclear whether his voice was any different, or whether it was just artistic license.

  This profile was completed 01/11/2026, but its publication was delayed as it was intended for the Appendix 25^th anniversary 's celebratory event.
