History:

(Man from Atlantis#7 (fb) - BTS) - When she was a young child, Plaxy's parents, the famous scientists Dr. James Farrell and Margaret Farrell, took her with them on an expedition to the North Pole on the slope of a dormant volcano; they left their eldest daughter Lucy behind in England to continue her formal schooling, but took along their two faithful big hounds, Cassiopeia and Sirius.

(Man from Atlantis#7 (fb)) - They lived and worked in a research dome, along with other scientists. James fitted the dogs with self-engineered speech collars and they were home-schooled alongside Plaxy. Days before the expedition was to return to England, a red tyrannosaurus rex from a hidden jungle kept warm by the volcano pursued an exploratory group back to the research dome. The scientific team fired guns at the dinosaur as panic spread; Margaret charged the dogs with protecting Plaxy and radioed for help. But the dinosaur soon fell onto the research dome, killing everyone except Plaxy and the dogs.

(Man from Atlantis#7 (fb) - BTS) - Plaxy grew up alone with her loyal dogs, staying mostly in the jungle region. She self-taught basic fighting and hunting skills, but also learned to command dinosaurs. She discovered a hidden ancient Atlantis-typed temple, once used by a forgotten race of humanoids who could survive above and below water. Growing into an older teenager, she protected the area, including against the encroaching techno-pirate Lars Skørba and his henchmen, who hunted for the hidden ancient treasure. Meanwhile, Lucy spent years tracking down her sister, adopting the identity of Lady Luck and manipulated the pirate into taking her with him.

(Man from Atlantis#6 (fb) - BTS) - Plaxy found a roving pirate seeking treasure, but he became focused on Plaxy's body and she slew him in self-defense.

(Man from Atlantis#6) - A week later, Skørba forced the amphibious man Mark Harris (colloquially the Man from Atlantis) to search for something valuable underwater, but remained vague on details. Harris eventually chanced upon the ancient ruins where Plaxy and her dogs confronted and corralled him.

(Man from Atlantis#7) - Feeling she could trust Harris, Plaxy took him to the secret path overlooking the hidden jungle and lake that hid Skørba's special vessel. Plaxy led them quickly to the lake while the dogs told Harris of Plaxy's history. Plaxy challenged Skørba and ordered him away from the area. Plaxy's spear batteries were no match for pirate blasters, so she rode a dinosaur stampede against the invaders. The pirates were soon overwhelmed and Skørba surrendered. The sisters were reunited and the Royal Navy was radioed for rescue, although Plaxy wasn't sure if she wanted to leave. Harris dived back into the water to investigate the Atlantean-esque ruins again.

Plaxy is sort of a Red Sonja character blended with an Arctic Shanna!

It's not clear if Man from Atlantis is Earth-616, but it's staying there until there's evidence otherwise.

I re-watched Man from Atlantis a couple of years back, and I don't think there's any real reason why the events of the TV show, the Marvel Comic adaptation, the British Look-In comic strip adaptation and even the 2016 novel by Patrick Duffy (the actor who played the Man from Atlantis) that revealed the title character's back-story and origin couldn't all fit in 616, especially during the 1970s when (thanks to the sliding timescale) there was minimal superhero activity.

As far as I can see, nothing in either comic version contradicts the continuity of the show, nor one another. All the stories seem to fit as simply being unseen adventures that happen in between or after the TV episodes. I can't recall if the show actually confirms he's from Atlantis or if it is just that characters speculate it, but regardless we know from Sub-Mariner stories that there have been more than one undersea location called Atlantis, and that the Atlantean people have been scattered from time to time, allowing for the titular lead character to come from some isolated subgroup of the Atlantean people. The one story that might have made this hard to fit was the 2016 novel, which provides a fair bit of backstory for the character and the undersea kingdom he comes from, but at least a a quick skim through it still doesn't seem to preclude this option either - he isn't from Namor's Atlantis, but he could be from a group that split off from them some time in the past. - Loki

They found an underwater site at the North Pole they interpreted as Atlantis (which I thought would knock it out of -616), but you're right, it doesn't mean it definitely was THE Atlantis.

Don't forget that Namor's original home was an Atlantis up in the Arctic, so that North Pole Atlantis in MFA could conceivably even have been the remains of that location. - Loki

CLARIFICATIONS :
Plaxy Farrell has no known connections to:

Cassiopeia & Sirius

Cassiopeia and Sirius were two large, long-lived hounds faithful to Plaxy Farrell. They were part of the initial Farrell scientific expedition to the North Pole and Dr. James Farrell fitted them with self-made speech collars. They were home-schooled in the research dome alongside Dr. Farrell's young daughter Plaxy. A few years later, the research dome was crushed by a pursuing dinosaur from a nearby hidden jungle sustained by a dormant volcano and all but Plaxy were killed. Plaxy stayed in ancient Atlantean-like ruins warmed by the volcano; the dogs had been charged with protecting the girl and stayed with her as she grew into an older teenager. The fearless dogs continued to protect her and attacked on command. Eventually she encountered the so-called Man from Atlantis, the amphibious Mark Harris, and had her dogs corral him. Realizing he meant no harm, she went to the surface and fought the greedy techno-pirate Lars Skørba, attended by her dogs, which had already related Plaxy's history to Harris. With Skørba defeated, the dogs detected the pirate's unwilling accomplice Lady Luck to be Plaxy's sister Lucy, who had spent years trying to track Plaxy down. The dogs stayed with the sisters as they waited for Royal Navy rescuers while Harris returned to the ocean.

Dr. James Farrell

Dr. James Farrell was the father of Plaxy. He and his wife Margaret were famous scientists who arrived at a North Pole research station located on the slope of what was thought to be a dormant volcano. The Farrell scientists left their eldest daughter Lucy behind to continue schooling in England, but took Plaxy with them on their expedition along with two large faithful dogs. James was a biologist and etymologist focused on the evolution of speech. James developed micro-circuit speech collars for the dogs that facilitated English verbalization. Several years passed with fruitful research. Days before the Farrells were due to return, warm temperature readings drew them to the volcano's eastern slope (which hid a primeval jungle). Although his men panicked, James remained calm with only a tranquilizer gun, but they were confronted but an adult red tyrannosaurus rex. Farrell's men fired guns at the dinosaur, which fell onto the research dome, killing James and Margaret plus the rest of the exploratory team, but left Plaxy alive protected by the dogs.
