Powers/Abilities: Bloodpet is a humanoid
killer pet that has instinctive intelligence. Directed at a target, it
fights the opponent. Its large size, enhanced strength, aggression,
fangs and intimidating appearance make it a formidable and
oft-victorious foe. Its thick muscular tail also improves its balance
and acts as a swiping weapon.

History:
(Creatures on the Loose I#20/1 (fb) - BTS) - Bloodpet
was kept as gladiatorial entertainment by Ar-Hap-led Lizardmen, killing
opponents of the Lizardmen in
one-sided matches. The heroic time-lost Earthman Gullivar Jones,
who had fought Lizardmen to protect his beloved Heru,
was captured, stripped to his trunks and one arm bound behind his back.

lieutenant Jen-In took Jones to a
small amphitheater where he was to be the evening's entertainment
during the marriage celebration of leader Ar-Hap with Heru with
the expectation that the vicious Bloodpet would rip Jones apart. Two
Lizardmen keepers brought out the
giant Bloodpet, but Jones' strength, enhanced in the Martian
conditions,
proved more than a match for the Bloodpet, despite his disadvantage of
having an arm bound. The Bloodpet fell (either unconscious or dead), at
which point Jen-In took the advantage to kidnap Heru as part of his
coup attempt against Ar-Hap.

"Bloodpet" was likely just a general name for the type of creature used for such brutal gladiatorial "entertainment" and not specific to this animal.
This profile was completed on 0/829/2025, but its
publication was delayed as it was intended for the Appendix 25th
anniversary's celebratory event to represent Gullivar Jones.
