Powers/Abilities: Chief Blood was presumably the ruler of a tribe, and something of a warrior, as he carried a sword.

    At the risk of his life, he was willing to stand up to and denounce a powerful tyrant.

    As a Deadsider, he was a soulless being animated by darkness and under the control of Lord Na

History:
(Light and Darkness War#2 (fb) - BTS) - Apparently the chief of the people of Rangta, Blood and his associates, including Master River of Pandea, were captured by the forces of Lord Na, who sought to conquer the entire galaxy and destroy light and life (and/or convert living beings into Deadsiders).

(Light and Darkness War#2 - BTS) - Lord Na spoke to the citizens of Black Gate, advising them to serve him and be raised to a life greater than anything they dreamed possible. He further advised them that if they resisted him, he would use the unspeakable power given to him by the Heart of all Darkness.

(Light and Darkness War#2) - His neck in a leash connected to a ship of Lord Na's men, Chief Blood spoke out, telling Lord Na, "Yer the son of a clubfoot dog -- only a simpleton would give fealty to you!"

    Acknowledging Chief Blood, Lord Na told him to speak and tell the men of Black Gate who he was while using his power to expel Blood's soul and convert him into a Deadsider under his control.

    Initially resisting and crying out, Blood swiftly was converted and noted, "I see! I see!"

    Seeing Blood's transformation, his associate Master River cursed him as an old fool and asked since when he was a worshipper of the Abyss.

    The Deadsider Blood told him, "It's true, River! Lord Na is the one promised by the ancients!"

    Lord Na then asked River if he would join his friend in final deliverance, and when River denounced him as well, Na granted him "joyful release," and his men shoved some sort of pitchfork weapon through his back.

    Na then offered all present to join Master River in humiliation or join Chief Blood in his (Na's) unfettered consciousness. All present opposed Na, and they were slaughtered.
