suggest they are not for visual acuity, but may be for show or a
technical device.

History:
(Peter Porker, The Spectacular Spider-Ham#9/2 (fb) -
BTS) - The Weaselly Whizzard was a foe of the flaming hero the Asinine
Torch. Many years passed and the Whizzard reformed, leaving crime
behind and chose to become a fight promoter and wrestler agent as it
was more lucrative. He considered former costumed super-people
drawcards and sought them out as potential wrestlers.
(Peter Porker, The Spectacular Spider-Ham#9/2) - The
Weaselly Whizzard zoomed in to the aged Asinine Torch, who was
reminiscing about days gone by and complaining about modern-age
gadgets.
No longer a crimefighter, the Torch sold hot dogs and pretzels, and was
always aflame. The Whizzard disrespectfully lit his cigar on the
Torch's leg and asserted his career change, brandishing wrestling agent
credentials when the Torch assumed the Whizzard was about to attack.
The simplistic Torch was quickly swayed into becoming a wrestler at the
Whizzard's pitched invitation; the Whizzard even paid the Torch an
advance on the first match. The Torch began reminiscing but the
Whizzard just humored him. Later in the wrestling ring, the Torch
complained about his gaudy costume but was then overjoyed to see his
old rival the Sub-Marsupial as his opponent. But instead of fighting,
the pair began musing happily over the past. The Whizzard angrily
intervened, demanding a bout from the aged fighters. Annoyed, the
Sub-Marsupial punched the Whizzard far out of the ring beyond the
audience before chaos erupted between the crowd and the super-powered
fighters.
Comments: Created by Mike Mellor & Steve Mellor.
Weaselly Whizzard is based on the Earth-616 character
the Wizard (Bentley Wittman) created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber &
Jack Kirby. The Earth-616 Wizard is a foe of the Fantastic Four and the
young Human Torch (Johnny Storm), yet the Asinine Torch appears very much to be
the old WWII android Human Torch (Jim Hammond).
He looks a little more like a rat with that un-furry tail and short neck than a weasel to me,
