History:
(Iron Man: Enter the Mandarin#1 (fb) - BTS) - Tony Stark skipped the reception without talking to General Rayburn because Veronica was tugging his arm (probably to leave early with her).

(Iron Man: Enter the Mandarin#1) - Tony Stark was already up and recharging his breastplate while supermodel Veronica Vogue was still sleeping. She woke up and got dressed after Tony was already ready to leave. Because their previous date was nothing more than part of a show for the stockholders and employees, she asked Tony out to dinner that evening at the El Morocco and then end the evening without clothes. He didn't really commit because he had a lot of responsibilities to juggle.

(Iron Man: Enter the Mandarin#1 - BTS) - At work Pepper Potts sarcastically asked Tony if they should send flowers to Veronica and never received an answer.

(Tales of Suspense I#51) - Veronica went to Stark's Long Island factory to ask Stark's secretary Pepper Potts to tell Stark that she was there to see him. The jealous Pepper claimed that Stark was out for the whole week, which Veronica didn't want to believe because they had a date that night.

(Iron Man: Enter the Mandarin#2) - Pepper called the office to tell Tony that Veronica Vogue had been waiting there for the past fifteen minutes. Happy told Tony what was going on and Tony told him that he had no time to see or talk to her at the moment. Happy passed on the message to Pepper and told her to just get rid of Veronica. With a big smile on her face Pepper told Veronica that Stark had no time for her at the moment, but still had her number. Veronica didn't take it well and even told Pepper not to enjoy this too much.

(Tales of Suspense I#51) - Pepper apologized for Stark seemingly forgetting about the date with Veronica, who then left quite mad and vowed that Stark would never get another date with her. Pepper was happy that her plan had worked.

(Tales of Suspense I#51 - BTS) - A few minutes later Stark asked her if a blonde had called to see him and Pepper denied it, thinking to herself that Veronica wasn't even a real blonde. Stark already suspected that Pepper was lying and later gave the tickets to a Broadway Show he had planned to attend with Veronica to Pepper and Happy. Pepper was disappointed that Stark didn't take her to the show.

Same scene, different artists from different eras. This is 100% artistic license and nothing else.

A model named VOGUE like the fashion magazine, which has existed since 1892. A bit on the nose, right?

According to Snood Iron Man: Enter the Mandarin doesn't really fit with the original stories, nor did it seem to be a subsequent adventure. He considers it an attempt at a ret-con.

She had massive gold-digger vibes going! Mister Stark dodged a bullet!
