History:
(Thunderbolts I#111 (fb) - BTS) - Miss Thompson was assigned by the Commission on Superhuman Activities to function as Norman Osborn's assistant while he served as director of the Thunderbolts, based in the Thunderbolts Mountain facility in Colorado.

(Thunderbolts I#111) - After the Thunderbolts apprehended the unregistered vigilante Jack Flag, Osborn asked Thompson to notify Moonstone to meet with him in his office. Before doing this, Thompson told Osborn the Commission had sent a list of tentative targets with "patchy intel." The list included Black Fox, Scarlet Spider, Digger, Dansen Macabre, Purple Mask and Battlestar. When Osborn heard the name "Scarlet Spider," he froze up and repeatedly questioned Thompson whether she'd just said "Spider-Man." She insisted she hadn't.

(Thunderbolts I#112) - Osborn took another look at Thompson's list, burst into laughter, then told her he had chosen the next target-- Steel Spider.

(Thunderbolts: Desperate Measures#1) - Osborn sarcastically told Miss Thompson to take a letter to the Commission in which he complained about having to deal with Penance on his Thunderbolts team. Thompson noted that, as Penance was technically a volunteer, his service with the Thunderbolts was considered rehabilitative therapy. She checked with him to verify that he didn't want her to mail the letter. Osborn then checked her list of targets and decided to pit the Thunderbolts against Americop. Thompson attended the briefing and attempted to placate Radioactive Man as he waited for Osborn to arrive. Moonstone was omitted from the briefing and when she discovered the team had gone into the field without her despite being the team leader, she angrily confronted Osborn and Thompson. Thompson claimed she was omitted as an "oversight." When Moonstone called her a "skinny little witch," Thompson told her to go back to her "cage." When the field team member Bullseye started attacking Penance, Osborn had Thompson activate his nanochain restraints to stun him unconscious. When Penance returned to Thunderbolts Mountain, he had a tense confrontation with Osborn that ended with him breaking some of Osborn's fingers. Thompson rushed in afterward to see Osborn injured but Osborn was pleased to say that he was finding Penance showed "potential."

(Thunderbolts I#113) - After a fruitless meeting with Penance, Osborn told Miss Thompson that he wanted to give him another psych evaluation. Thompson noted the results of the evaluation would be certain to be the same as his last session but Osborn told her he was certain Penance would get himself killed in the field and he wanted to be covered with the Commission if and when that happened.

(Penance: Relentless#1) - Miss Thompson accompanied the Thunderbolts and their security detail on a field mission aboard their new aircraft, the Falcon troop carrier. Thompson explained the Falcon's speed, autopilot and escape pods to the team and their handlers then Moonstone briefed the team on their assignment.

(Penance: Relentless#2) - After Penance went AWOL, Thompson briefed Osborn on his most recent activities, including classified files Penance had accessed, which included the witness protection program so that he could locate Mendel Stromm. She also gave Osborn his anti-psychotic medications. Later, Tony Stark asked to see the nuclear launch codes Penance had supposedly retrieved on a recent mission. When Thompson checked the evidence locker, she discovered Penance had stolen the codes.

(Thunderbolts I#117) - A team of psychics deliberately let themselves be captured and held in Thunderbolts Mountain so they could use their powers to pit the Thunderbolts against each other and destroy themselves. As he began to be affected by the psychics, Osborn confronted Thompson, wondering where she had put his pills. She reminded him that the pills were in his desk. Osborn grumbled that Thompson was "paid out of about eight illegal slush funds, the least you could do is make a pretense of earning it."

(Thunderbolts I#118) - When Osborn looked in his drawer for his pills, he saw a mental image of his Green Goblin mask. He screamed and Thompson entered the office to help him. When he told her to check his drawer, she didn't see the mask. Later, the psychics caused an explosion in the main bay and Thompson went to find Osborn but he had hidden himself in a bathroom stall, now wearing his Green Goblin mask.

Comments: Created by Warren Ellis and Mike Deodato Jr.

You can see Miss Thompson as a forerunner to Victoria Hand. For a few years there, Deodato always seemed to draw a female assistant on panel whenever he drew Osborn; it's kind of a pity that she didn't follow him when he took over H.A.M.M.E.R.-- but then, Osborn deliberately burned his bridges with the Commission when he did that.
