SHELMAR
Real Name: Shelmar
Identity/Class: Sub-species of humanity (Deviant)
Occupation: Warrior, weapons officer
Group Membership: The Deviants of Lemuria
Affiliations: Warlord Kro
Enemies: Ikaris, Margo Damian
Known Relatives: None
Aliases: None
Base of Operations: "City of Toads," Lemuria-East, beneath the southern Atlantic Ocean

Powers/Abilities: Shelmar possesses no superhuman powers, but like many Deviants, he may have minor physical enhancements beyond baseline human norms, such as heightened durability or longevity. A warrior and weapons officer, Shelmar would've been extensively trained in armed combat and battlefield tactics. While on board of Warlord Kro's warship he piloted the ship's Z-Ray to shoot Ikaris out of the sky.
Height: Unrevealed (approximately 5'7")
Weight: Unrevealed (approximately 220 lbs.)
Eyes: White, no visible irsises
Hair: Unrevealed, most likely none
History:
(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe I#3 - BTS) - Shelmar was a Deviant warrior residing in Lemuria, the Deviants' undersea stronghold in the Atlantic Ocean.
(Marvel Atlas I#1 - BTS) - Shelmar served as a weapons officer within the Deviant military forces.
(Eternals I#3) - Shelmar was among a group of Deviant warriors who accompanied Warlord Kro on a mission to New York City, where Kro intended to masquerade as Satan in order to provoke humanity into attacking the Celestials. Thus ensuring their destruction, just as the Deviants themselves had once suffered.
En route to New York City, the Deviants encountered the Eternal Ikaris flying alongside a small aircraft carrying his human companion, Margo Damian. Seizing the opportunity, Shelmar attempted to strike down Ikaris using the ship's Z-Ray, managing only to wound him. When Shelmar prepared to fire on the airplane, it abruptly vanished, enraging Kro, who furiously hurled Shelmar aside.
Comments: Created by Jack Kirby and John Verpoorten.
Although unseen, Shelmar presumably joined in the attack on New York City seen during Eternals I#3 through Eternals I#6. He could even been part of the Deviants who were turned into lizards by Sersi, thus explaining why Shelmar hasn't been seen since.
The Marvel Wikia website notes Shelmar's first appearance as Eternals I#9, however this is incorrect as the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe I#3 (March, 1983) states issue 3 as being his first. I've repeatedly read and researched issue 9 as well but he does not appear in it.
Shelmar was first identified in the Deviant group profile in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe I#3 (March, 1983) and also appeared in the Deviant group profile in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe II#3 (February, 1986).
