History:

(Deadly Hands of Kung Fu I#32 (fb) - BTS) - Osama had at least two sons but both of them died in war, leaving him with no male heirs.

(Deadly Hands of Kung Fu I#32 (fb)) - After his brother Kenji Ozawa was assassinated by an agent of Emil Vachon, Osama assumed his role as head of Japan's secret service. Osama greeted his grand-niece Colleen Wing and her friend Misty Knight at Kenji's funeral in Honshu. Osama reminded Colleen that their family was descended from the samurai and he was determined to have revenge against his brother's killer. As Osama's lame leg left him unable to claim vengeance on his own, he asked Colleen to avenge his brother's deeath. Colleen agreed to the assignment.

(X-Men I#118) - When Japan was menaced by a series of earthquakes caused by Moses Magnum, Osama brought inColleen Wing and Misty Knight to assist them. At a conference with Sunfire and Cyclops of the X-Men at the Yoshida estate in Agarashima, Sunfire insisted he had the power to defend Japan from the earthquakes without any help but Osama insisted they couldn't afford to refuse anyone. When Moses Magnum caused another earthquake to shake apart the estate, the X-Men helped Osama and his staff escape the building's destruction.

(X-Men I#119 (fb)) - After Moses Magnum issued an ultimatum vowing to destroy Japan unless they surrendered their sovereignty to him, Osama held a briefing with Sunfire and the X-Men, sharing with them what was known about Moses Magnum and his power. Misty Knight and Colleen Wing had located Moses Magnum's base in the Kuril islands. Osama hoped the X-Men and Sunfire could stop Moses Magnum before he could make good on his threat to Japan.

(X-Men I#120) - After Moses Magnum's defeat, Osama and Sunfire accompanied the X-Men, Misty Knight and Colleen Wing to an airport to thank them for their help as they left Japan.

Comments: Created by Chris Claremont and Marshall Rogers.

The exact arm of the secret service to which Osama belongs has not been identified - it could be the Defense Intelligence Headquarters.

Although Osama is Colleen's great-uncle they refer to each other colloquially as "uncle" and "niece."
