History:
(Iron Man I#69 (fb) - BTS) - The past of Loc Do is largely unrevealed, but at some point he used his skills to become one of the Yellow Claw's humble lackeys; although he served only as a "lowly machinist," Loc Do had higher ambitions, and secretly desired to overthrow the Yellow Claw.

While the Mandarin was away battling Iron Man (Tony Stark), the Yellow Claw and his underlings--including Loc Do--seized control of his fortress arsenal in China. Expecting an impending attack when the Mandarin returned, the Yellow Claw stationed Loc Do at one of the fortress' windows to keep watch.

(Iron Man I#69) - Loc Do warned the Claw when he saw a nearby mountainside erupt in savage fury (caused by the Mandarin activating Ultimo).

(Iron Man I#70) - As Iron Man and Sunfire (Shiro Yoshida) dealt with Ultimo, the Mandarin used a secret entrance into his fortress, so he could confront the Yellow Claw by surprise; but the Claw that he faced was actually a robot double, which exploded and fatally wounded the Mandarin...

(Iron Man I#100 (fb)) - ...however, in the moment before his death, the Mandarin secretly transferred his consciousness into his rings.

(Iron Man I#70) - Following the Mandarin's death, the Yellow Claw ordered Loc Do to dispose of the corpse. But craving power of his own, Loc Do first confiscated the ten rings that his master so carelessly ignored from the Mandarin's dead fingers; Loc Do was determined to someday find a way to restore the rings' power...and on that day, a new Mandarin would arise!

(Iron Man I#71) - Loc Do reported to the Yellow Claw that he had disposed of the body, and personally scattered the Mandarin's ashes. But with the rings still in his possession, the power-hungry Loc Do was planning to one day become the Mandarin himself.

(Iron Man I#100 (fb)) - At some point, Loc Do began to master the rings he wore on his fingers; but shortly after activating the rings, he felt an excruciating pain in his head, as the Mandarin uploaded his own mental essence from the rings into Loc Do's brain--on that day, Loc Do died, and the true Mandarin was reborn!

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Deluxe Edition#8: Mandarin) - Using his matter-rearranger ring, the Mandarin transformed Loc Do's body into a younger duplicate of his original one.

Comments: Created by Mike Friedrich and George Tuska.

Loc Do's height and weight were probably close to those of the Mandarin's original body.

This profile covers only the appearances of Loc Do as a separate character, before his mind was displaced by the Mandarin's--technically, his altered body still appears in every story after the Mandarin's resurrection.

And Dr. Doom (Victor von Doom) would later use similar methods to bring himself back after his "death" (see Remembrancer and Norman McArthur).
