History:
(Marvel Team-Up I#49) - After Iron Man was hit by an explosive toy plane and he crashed down into the streets of Manhattan, cab driver Charlie Hacker rushed to the armored Avenger's aid. Charlie noticed that Iron Man did not appear to be moving and another bystander asked why Charlie was getting involved, remarking that no one asked Iron Man to get hurt. An annoyed Charlie barked back that no one had asked the bystander to help either and Charlie suggested the bystander buzz off as Charlie tried to remove Iron Man's helmet in order to check his breathing. The bystander again chimed in, warning Charlie to leave Iron Man alone, as the hero's helmet might be booby-trapped, but the unafraid Charlie replied that no one would booby-trap something in such a way that it would blow their own head off. Unsure of how he would check Iron Man's breathing if he couldn't get the hero's helmet off, Charlie looked up to see the heroic Spider-Man captured by the enigmatic Wraith. As Spider-Man faced off against the Wraith, Charlie desperately tried to revive Iron Man, commenting that he didn't have a can-opener and Iron Man was too heavy for Charlie to move on his own. When Charlie asked Iron Man to grunt or something just to show he was still alive, a recovering Iron Man responded that, while he didn't take requests, he could tap dance instead. A surprised Charlie then exclaimed that Iron Man was alive and the hero replied back that he was only barely so before asking how long he had been out. Charlie answered that Iron Man had been unconscious for awhile and that Spider-Man had been getting his tail kicked by the Wraith in the meantime. Iron Man quickly got to his feet but when he proved to still be dizzy, Charlie suggested Iron Man lean on him until he got his bearings. Iron Man thanked Charlie for everything he had done but commented that his next actions had to be alone before he flew off to aid Spider-Man.
