History:
(Marvel Mystery Comics I#63/6 (fb) - BTS) - The athletic
woman who took on the moniker Catwoman targeted Jewelers' Row to steal a
large amount of highly valuable jewellery at night. She shot and killed
a worker to get to the safe.
(Marvel
Mystery Comics I#63/6) - Coincidentally nearby, Thomas Halloway (the
heroic vigilante Angel) heard the gunfire and rushed in. After a brief
but intense scuffle, Catwoman escaped to the roof and to the Angel's
surprise, she leaped from the roof and used the building's flagpole to
swing inside an open window several floors below. Matching her skills,
the Angel followed. Catwoman fled into a waiting cab but the Angel was
stopped by one of Catwoman's thugs pretending to be a pedestrian. The
thug quickly left when the Angel retaliated. The hero clung to the
thug's cab as it went to Catwoman's hideout where she intended to divide
the loot, but the Angel broke through the window and knocked out her
four thugs. Catwoman tried to stab the Angel but was blocked and the
knife killed a thug, so she threw furniture to get away. Fearing trial,
she took to her car and fled, but then chose to kill herself in a crash
when the Angel pursued rather than get caught. The Angel took her body
and any lost jewels back to Catwoman's hideout and called the police for
them to sort out.

The Angel finds Catwoman in "Jewelers' Row", which refers
to jewelry districts, most notably in Philadelphia and Chicago. With
Philadelphia being apparently the largest, I'll place this adventure
there.
This story (on sale Feb. 22, 1945) is almost identical to that in Captain America Comics I#45/5 (cover dated March, 1945, on sale Jan. 10, 1945), except that it's Captain America & Bucky fighting the Cat Woman (two words), although the Angel's foe has a cat-themed costume. Even a lot of the dialog is the same. Had they run out of scripts and quickly modified a recently used one? And which was completed first -- sure, the Cap story was published first, but the Angel had limited exposure and perhaps more completed stories? Was it a way to compare two artists' design interpretation of a female "Cat" thief? Whichever, let's put it down to bizarre coincidence that there were two sassy female thieves with the same skills who perished the same way at the same time. Personally, I like the idea that Cap's foe survived the car crash and amped up her gimmick in another city, only to be stopped by another patriot hero, but this time her failure to reform led to her being unable to escape death and she died in her next car crash.
She's once named Cat-Woman (with hyphen) late in the story
and once later Cat-Girl in the narrator text boxes. Angel calls her
a "murderous She-Cat" and his handbook entry lists her under that name
when mentioning their encounter, so I guess it's an alias of sorts. -
