Real Name: Ariann Wright

Identity/Class: magic user

Occupation: Assists great-grandfather father at Thamuz books

Affiliations: Legion of the Night

Known Relatives: Caspar (great-grandfather)

Aliases: None

Base of Operations: New York City

First Appearance: Legion of the Night#1 (1991)

Powers/Abilities: Natural understanding of magic, limited precognition and prescience, ability to actively combat magical beings. Ability to speak to shadows (souls?). Despite her youth (pre-teen?), she was comfortable in the astral realm of Aan Taanu, and intuitively knew what she had to do to stop his plans. She did not have the power at that time to fight the demon Aan Taanu herself.

History: Ariann worked alongside her father in Thamuz books, a small store specializing in rare and obscure books. She met Charles Blackwater, knew he was looking for the Anten Decan, and had her father retrieve it for him. She also told him he was going to die soon. Shortly thereafter he was slain by the Beyond Reason Spiritual Fellowship.

Ariann was summoned by Omen, an enigmatic being who had resurrected Blackwater and used him his host on earth. Both she and her father were transported to Blackwater's apartment, along with several others, whom Omen organized into the Legion of the Night. He transported them to the astral realm of the demon Aan Taanu to stop his plans to father a new race by mating with a human woman.

While the rest of the Legion battles the demon's horde, Ariann brought Martin Gold to the demon's sanctum. They witnessed Beyond Reason Spirtual Fellowship high priestess Hildreth mating with Aan Taanu, the pregnancy progressed rapidly over seconds, but Ariann leapt forth and tore the unborn fetus from Hildreth's womb, instantly killing both mother and unborn child. She was then attacked by Aan Taanu, but was saved by Omen. Omen banished the demon, and halted his plot.

Ariann remained alongside the Legion following this adventure. She was later observed assisting Omen in conflict against a demon sent by Aan Taanu. This demon had possessed Morton Klasser, an ex-convict and manipulated him to locate Leena Wolfe, a private investigator hired by Klasser's ex-wife to document his affairs and abuses. Wolfe had recently been hired by attack Allison Lamb, a former girlfriend of Blackwater who had hired Wolfe to investigate Blackwater's behavior changes. Wolfe's investigations led her to Ariann and Caspar. Ariann warned Wolfe about Klasser's threat, but Wolfe disregarded it, feeling that Blackwater had had her investigated and was using scare tactics to drive her off.

Ariann informed Blackwater of the threat to Wolfe, and Ariann, Caspar, and Blackwater located her in her office. Omen then emerged from Blackwater and temporarily entered the form of Wolfe. Lamb then arrived for a meeting with Wolfe, just as Klasser arrived to gain his vengeance on Wolfe. The demon forced Klasser to instead attack Lamb. However, Omen emerged and forcibly removed and slew the demon.
