History: Unrevealed. Psi-Borg picked up mental images from Smoke Scream which indicated that a bio-genetic engineer transformed Smoke Scream's body into sentient smoke. Psi-Borg believed that this is the same scientist who was involved with the development of her own powers.

Smoke Scream was recruited by Angar the Screamer (under the alias of the Voice) to assist with part of a mission from the Roxxon Oil Company to hijack and raid a SHIELD (Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate) Helicarrier. This mission was successful, although eventually, Nick Fury, along with a new group of SHIELD Super-Agents managed to find and board the Helicarrier. One of the Super-Agents, Psi-Borg used her powers to contain and condense the vapor produced by Smoke Scream until it reached "critical mass," and she exploded.
