Powers/Abilities: Skoll has the ability to appear as either an Asgardian man, or in the form of an immense wolf. As a wolf, he has sharp canine teeth and claws.

History: (Norse myth)- Skoll is a terrible wolf born in Ironwood who pursued the sun-goddess Solveig. It was prophecied that he would consume her (the sun) at Ragnarok. Skoll's brother, Hati, was also to devour Solveig's brother, Mani, the moon-god at Ragnarok. Ironwood is a great forest east of Midgard (here Midgard is used to describe the land of the Vikings) where a wicked witch lives. Mother of Skoll and Hati, her other children consist of trolls and werewolves.

(Journey Into Mystery I#101/2)- Ages ago, Skoll joined some Rime Giants, his brother Hait, Haag, Ulfrin, Geirrodur and Ymir in assaulting Asgard through a breach in their defenses. They found only the young Asgardian Thor barring their path, and engaged him in battle, but Thor held his own long enough for Odin to lead the armies of Asgard down upon them, and drive them away.

(Thor I#448)- Skoll and Uroc met with Karnilla to plot their assault upon Heimdall, the current ruler of Asgard. Karnilla ordered them to locate more allies.

(Thor I#449)- When Karnilla sensed that the Enchantress was scheming to aid Heimdall by passing on the axe of Skurge the Executioner to a new person, she sent Skoll to Earth to kill her. The Enchantress teleported them both away for their battle.

(Thor I#450)- The Enchantress deposited the unconscious body of Skoll with the Wolf gods, to face the justice of his own pack. She secured the assurance of the other Wolf gods that they would deal with Skoll, and that they were on the side of Asgard.

Thanks to Will U for mythological information.

With Solveig having died in Thor Annual#12, that detail of Raganarok will presumably come about differently. Or possibly Skoll already consumed her in a previous Ragnarok?

Skoll's role in Ragnarok was depicted in Thor I#472, during a nightmare Thor had.

The Wolf Gods were revealed as descendents of Fenris Wolf in Thor Annual#12

Skoll supposedly died during the Ragnarok in Thor II#85.
