History: Avram Siegel studied extensively in the occult and wrote "The Hierarchy of Hells: A Layman's Guide to the Demonological Tree." He studies brought him into contact with Daimon Hellstrom, aka Hellstorm, and their common interest in the struggle between God and the Devil generated a lasting friendship.

(Hellstorm#1) - Avram lectured to the New York chapter of the Housewives for Deceny.

(Hellstorm#4) - Avram and Daimon met at Avram's residence for a game of Chess and one of their regular debates. Avram questioned Daimon's claims as the "Son of Satan," challenging him to convince him by taking him to Hell.
Avram learned of Joshua Crow, who had "revived" Nicholas, the husband of Anna, an old friend of Avram's, from a months long coma--with marked personality changes.

(Hellstorm#7-9) -Avram informed Daimon about Crow's activities. Upon investigating, they found that Nicholas' body was inhabited by the soul of Joseph Heinrich Gerhardt, a former nazi resurrected from the depths of Hell. They learned that Crow thought he was granted his powers of healing from Heaven and was unaware of their true nature. Daimon gathered three of the resurrected souls and decided that they deserved the right to go to Heaven. Avram joined Daimon on a journey that took them through Hell as part of a shortcut to get to his Fire Lake Mansion. Avram mocked Daimon's Satanic Chariot--"A chariot?! What were you thinking of?" Daimon then left to take the souls to Heaven, and Avram stayed at the mansion and played Chess with Isaac Christians, the Gargoyle. Their game was interrupted by Patsy, who ran through the house in a mad rant before collapsing.

(Hellstorm#12) - Hearing of the murder of his friend, the African occultist Emeneya Nkrumah, Avram visited in the site of his death--and was subsequently disemboweled and killed by the Armorer. Avram's own viscera added to the Armorer's magical body armor.

Comments: Created by Rafael Nieves and Michael Bair.

Siegel was another of Hellstorm's backgroud supporting cast, who made it into the plots of each of the three teams that did the series. Nieves and Bair created him, Len Kaminiski and Peter Gross did the story with Crow and the cursed souls, and Warren Ellis and Leonardo Manco eviscerated him.
