(Thunderstrike#15/2)- To keep the Pentagon from taking the Thermal Man, Redfield activated the robot on the pretense of running a test, against Conklin's advice. Just as Conklin predicted, the Thermal Man could not be controlled and began to slaughter Redfield's staff and destroy the facility. Redfield made it to safety while Conklin died, but Conklin passed on information to his wife Shelley Conklin which proved that Redfield had activated the Thermal Man to collect the insurance money on his facility.
