History: (Spider-Man Unlimited I#13 (fb, BTS))- Jason Quartermaster was the senior supervisor of scientific research at Rand-Meachum Inc., but was secretly working for Roxxon Oil, and assisted in enhancing the abilities of the Scorpion.

(Spider-Man Unlimited I#13)- When Luke Cage was investigating the capture of J. Jonah Jameson by the Scorpion, he checked in with Daniel Rand after hearing that there was corruption within Rand-Meachum. Rand told him to speak to Quartermaster.

In their meeting, Quartermaster denied being involved in criminal activities, and was eager to test the strength of Cage's skin, throwing a sharp dart at his back to see if it would penetrate.

When Cage returned after battling the Scorpion, Quartermaster confronted him with his universal solvent, and threatened to kill Cage with it by dissolving the flesh from his bones. He managed to dissolve the plank Cage was standing on, leaving him hovering over a vat of solvent, but then Misty Knight arrived and saved him. Just as Quartermaster turned to confront Misty, Cage removed the chain from his waist, slung it around Quartermaster, and dragged him into the pit of solvent, killing him instantly. Cage regretted having taken Quartermaster's life, but saw no other way to stop him.
