Powers/Abilities: Mogol was super-humanly strong (Class 75-100) and durable, and was able to go blow-for-blow against the Hulk. He was particularly vulnerable to a heat ray weapon, which apparently disrupted him and neutralized his invulnerability, after which he had the durability of normal steel (see comments).
Mogol was unaware of his past, including the fact that he was a robot. He appeared to be intelligent, though it may have just been his programming; he was also programed to think he had emotions, such that he felt loneliness in the world of tiny Subterraneans, and was determined to make the Hulk his friend.
He briefly wore a helmet while confronting the Hulk.

History:
(Incredible Hulk II#127 (fb) - BTS) - Mogol may have been designed, built, and programmed by the subterranean
ruler Tyrannus and his agents, or obtained from another source (see
comments).
(Incredible Hulk II#127) - Tyrannus wanted Mogol to recruit the Hulk to assist in his renewed war against the Mole Man (who had captured Tyrannus' Fountain of Youth). Tyrannus teleported Mogol to Earth's surface, where the Hulk was rampaging through Manhattan. Mogol introduced himself to the Hulk, offering him friendship; but when Mogol mentioned Tyrannus' name, the Hulk attacked him.
After a short but brutal struggle, Mogol convinced the Hulk that they were nearly equals and should be friends. The Hulk chose friendship and took Mogol's hand, allowing Tyrannus to teleport them both to his realm; Mogol convinced the Hulk to follow Tyrannus' instructions, and the two began working on weapons and fortifications, which they completed within hours.
The Hulk and Mogol then led Tyrannus' army against the Mole Man's subterranean city; but not long after the struggle began, Mogol was blasted on his arm by a heat ray wielded by one of the opposing Moloids, which exposed tangled metal machinery beneath the surface of his limb. Mogol was surprised to learn he was a robot, as was the Hulk. However, having been attacked by many robots serving his enemies in the past, the Hulk determined that Mogol had been sent to trick him.
The enraged Hulk attacked Mogol, who offered no resistance, instead trying only to convince the Hulk that he truly wished to be his friend. Even as the Hulk ripped him in half, Mogol still tried to calm his former friend. The Hulk then shattered Mogol's form, leaving only his still-speaking central processing unit, which pleaded with the Hulk that he was his friend; but the Hulk heedlessly crushed the electronic component into powder, silencing Mogol's voice forever.
Furious that he'd been tricked, the Hulk returned to Tyrannus' kingdom and devastated it with a shock-wave caused by his smashing his fists down to the ground. As he turned away and began his long walk back to the surface of the world, the Hulk realized too late that Mogol might have been telling the truth all along, and that Mogol might have been his only friend.

Mogol may have been leftover
Deviant technology discovered by Tyrannus. And judging by the dialogue
between the Mole Man and one of his Moloid soldiers (p15, pan2, where
the Moloid responds "But we know Mogol's secret, o
Master!"), the two of them seemed to be aware that Mogol was a
robot...or at the very least, they knew he was vulnerable to the heat
ray.

Once damaged by the heat beam, Mogol's virtual invulnerability went straight to the crapper. Perhaps he had some sort of force field device that the heat beam disrupted.
This story was the Hulk at his most pathetic. I don't mean the story itself (which was just fine); it's just that he allowed his anger to blind him and he brutally destroyed what might have been one of his greatest friends. You never hear about Mogol, but he was an interesting character and it was a solid story.
Lastly, if I don't bring this up, some bastich will point out that I omitted information on an appearance of Mogol, in the form of an illusion in Incredible Hulk II#227 -- It's not really Mogol, so please don't bother to try to add that. Or some alternate dimensional counterpart from some What If? story...ditto.
