HALF-MAN
Real Name: Half-Man
Identity/Class: Human/Amoeba hybrid
Occupation: Warrior, servant of Supremus
Affiliations: servant of Supremus
Known Relatives: None
Aliases: None
Base of Operations: Supremus' base within the Caves of Hercules, Cape Spartel (at the junction of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea)
Appearances: Nick Fury, Agent of Shield I#8 (January, 1969)
Powers: Half-Man possessed superhuman strength (@ enhanced human) and durability. He had four arms and was skilled at both armed and unarmed combat (you know what I mean). He used a variety of weapons, including spears, axes, and and an energy pistol.
History:
Half-Man was the result of Supremus' first successful experiment
in genetic manipulation. It was originally a normal man, but it
was partially reverted back to a basic amoebic form.
Half-Man assisted Supremus in the facilitation of his plans to enslave humanity with his "Zombie-Gas" and create a new race to replace mankind. When Nick Fury invaded Supremus' base, Half-Man was sent to dispatch him. Fury was outmatched in terms of physical power, but he managed to impale with his own spear, apparently killing Half-Man.
Comments: Created by Stan Lee, Archie Goodwin, Ernie Hart, Frank Springer, Herb Trimpe, and John Tartaglione.
I'm not really sure exactly what Half-Man had in common with an Amoeba, which is an amorphous single-celled organism. I guess the idea sounded cool at the time. He really shouldn't have been injured by the spear in the least.
Clarifications: Half-Man is not to be confused with:
Half-Face, a Viet-Namese soldier, @ Tales of Suspense I#92
Half-Mad, a kyphotic mutant, @ Werewolf by Night I#16
