Real Name: Unknown

Group Membership: None

Known Relatives: None

Aliases: None

Base of Operations: New York, especially a secret headquarters in Manhattan

First Appearance: Marvel Comics Presents#74/4 (1991)

Powers/Abilities: Unknown, but he seemed to be a very smart and tricky guy (not smart enough for the heroes, but still smart)

History:
(MCP#74/4 (fb) - BTS) - Firebomb came along and coldcocked Bobby Drake and Johnny Storm while they were having brunch. He kidnapped Alicia and left a message behind that he was going to blow her up with half of Manhattan before noon. A short time later the heroes went after Firebomb. Johnny Storm was on his way to stop the bomb and Iceman was after Firebomb. Iceman caught up with Firebomb and got the impression that he was happy that it was the Torch who was heading to his bomb and not Iceman. He told Iceman that he wanted him blown up too and that in the end it would be all the Torch's fault.

(MCP#74/4) - Firebomb's bomb was stopped by Iceman and the Human Torch. Alicia and Manhattan were saved from the big bang as the molecular motion in the bomb was stopped by bringing its temperature down to absolute zero.

Comments: Created by Dan Mishkin and Joe Staton.

Actually Firebomb was never seen in the story. He was just the guy the heroes kept talking about all the time. Sure there was no chance for Firebomb to make an actual appearance, but a boy can dream.
The story occurs in the last ten seconds of the countdown. The longest ten seconds I've ever seen.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Firebomb should not be confused with:

Alicia Masters-Storm was the Skrull Lyja Lazerfist who was posing as Alicia and should therefore be distinguished from:

Firebomb's henchmen

Two henchmen tried to stop the Human Torch on his way to the bomb, but he destroyed their guns and asked them what they had done to his wife. They showed him the way to Alicia and he advised them to run away because of the bomb.

Firebomb's bomb

It was a time bomb built by Firebomb, and to ensure the explosion he put heat sensors above it which would've set off the explosion if the Human Torch interfered. He strapped Alicia to the time bomb in his secret headquarters and, as planned, the Human Torch was on his way to the bomb. Iceman stopped Johnny from using his flame and worked with him to bring the bomb's temperature down to absolute zero. Iceman cooled it down and Johnny absorbed the ambient heat away from Iceman. It worked and the bomb was stopped one second before the explosion.

Description to the picture:
