Powers/Abilities: As a sorcerer, Colábrun can fly, fire mystic bolts, absorb energy that is directed at him, and probably perform other magical feats as well; he can apparently derive sustenance and perhaps greater strength from the "psychic wine" of living creatures. His power level is such that he is allegedly capable of "plummeting [the Earth] into darkness." He wears an amulet that somewhat resembles the one first used by Doctor Strange, but whether or not it has similar power is unrevealed. Colábrun resembles a humanoid cat, with fur, fangs, claws (at least on his feet), pointed ears, and a tail; it is not known if his appearance is typical for his race or if he has been mystically mutated.

History: Nothing is known about Colábrun save that at one point he decided to invade the Earth dimension in order to feed off of the psychic energy of its inhabitants (whom he called "pulsing apes and their servant creatures"), an invasion that would allegedly plummet the world into darkness. Doctor Strange opposed Colábrun in another dimension, and after a battle that drew hard upon Strange's reserves, he concealed "the portal to the Dimension of No Return" within an illusion of himself and manipulated Colábrun into attacking it. Colábrun inadvertently hurled himself through the portal, where he would allegedly "forever be lost within its loops of infinity." Mystically exhausted, Strange returned to Earth and prepared to recuperate via a full day's meditation, but he set his recuperation aside to, alongside Dr. Josefina Marino, attend the birth of the sons of the Scarlet Witch and the Vision.

Comments: Created by Steve Englehart, Richard Howell, and Frank Springer.

Doctor Strange's clash with Colábrun took less than two pages and played no real role in the plot of V&SW#12 except to serve as an example of what Strange's duties require of him and a contrast to the (relatively) more prosaic duty he took up at the Scarlet Witch's bedside. Although referred to by Doctor Strange as "Netherspawn," Colábrun did not appear to be a demon per se, and he was dressed in the same general style as many sorcerers in the Marvel Universe, so presumably he was a non-demonic extradimensional, perhaps even the Sorcerer Supreme of his dimension. The dimension in which he fought Doctor Strange was not identified, and it is unclear whether it was his home dimension or one to which he had journeyed because it was more adjacent to the Earth dimension; it somewhat resembled the Dark Dimension (or another Ditko-esque realm)

CLARIFICATIONS: Colábrun should not be confused with:
