GLITTERSPIKE 2099

Real Name: Alexi Jaeger

Identity/Class: Extra-temporal (Earth 2099) Enhanced Human

Occupation: Assassin

Affiliations: Danielle Winokur-Ezaki (ex-lover), Rosa Vasquez (Ex-lover), Heinrich Greenstreet

Enemies: Rosa Vasquez, Metalhead 2099, Shadow Dancer, Freakshow 2099, Joaquim Vasquez

Known Relatives: Joaquim Vasquez (Son)

Aliases: None

Base of Operations: Mobile, Earth 2099

First Appearance: X-Men 2099#14 (November, 1994)

Powers/Abilities: Due to Bio-shop enhancements, Alexi can absorb light and manipulate it in various ways, such as energy blasts, focusing it to replace a limb, or making funny looking bubbles appear around him. His favorite use of it seemed to be focusing it into a mace. Also, he wore an anti-gravity harness, that allowed him flight.

Weaknesses: The light he can absorb is limited, and if cut off from the sun, he can not recharge.

History: (X-Men 2099#14)- At Danielle Winokur-Ezaki's secluded summer home, she mentioned to Alexi that she wanted to fly, so he flew her up very high... Then dropped her. Returning to media mogul Heinrich Greenstreet's home, Alexi announced he had completed the hit on Winokur-Ezaki. Getting violent, he demanded his payment... The location of his ex-lover, Rosa Vasquez. Later, he showed up in Oklahoma, looking to reclaim what was his, namely Rosa and their unborn son. After knocking around Freakshow member Dominic and Rosa's current boyfriend, Metalhead, he took her and departed.

(X-Men 2099#15)- Arguing as they flew over some hills, Rosa jammed his anti-grav unit, sending them crashing to the ground. Waking into a dark cave, they noticed that they were being watched by the Shadow Dancer. Hearing Rosa mention that local legends said that the Shadow Dancer was supposedly harmless, he attacked. The Dancer didn't take too kindly to that, and fought back. Metalhead, Mama Hurricane and Louise Wingfoot showed up to rescue Rosa, but it seemed like the Shadow Dancer had already done all the work. As it tried to explain it's past to the group, Glitterspike attacked him from behind. Metalhead then KOed him and sealed up the cave, leaving him all alone with the Shadow Dancer, with no light source to recharge with.

(X-Men 2099#24)- While watching the sun set together, Rosa and Metalhead were interupted by Glitterspike, now missing an arm and quite scarred up from his fight with the Shadow Dancer. As Metalhead prepared to fight, Rosa told him her water just broke...

(X-Men 2099#25)- Glitterspike jumped to the offensive, even piercing Metalhead's... um... metal side with a light blade. When Alexi bragged that he just wanted the baby back to sell it to the highest bidder, the unborn Joaquim protected his mother from him.

Comments: Created by John Francis Moore and Ron Lim.

What Joaquim actually did to Glitterspike, I can't really tell. He started to glow very bright and was covered in a blue light, but whether that proceeded to kill him or merely subdued him... Ask John Moore sometime.
