History:
(Vision & Scarlet Witch II#1) - Vision and Scarlet Witch went to a
real estate agency in Leonia to find a new house similar to their old
one. Real estate agent Norm Webster took them to the conference room
and tried to talk them out of it because of the intolerance they would
be facing again, but they already had that discussion in the car before
arriving. Norm revealed that he and most of his friends were actually
proud that two Avengers lived in Leonia and took them to a house only
two blocks away.
(Vision & Scarlet Witch II#1 - BTS) - Norm showed them the inside of the house.
(Vision & Scarlet Witch II#1) - They made their choice to buy the house and Vision asked Norm to contact the current owner. Norm promised to let them know the next day what the owner had to say.
(Vision and the Scarlet Witch II#4 (fb) - BTS) - Norm closed the deal and the house was sold to Vision and the Scarlet Witch.
(Vision and the Scarlet Witch II#4) - Mr. Spector and his friends talked business with Norm and offered to handle their condos through him so they could all become rich. Spector knew Norm was the realtor dealing with Vision and Scarlet Witch and made it clear that the only thing that could screw up this deal was the mutant and android moving back to Leonia. When Norm revealed that the house deal with the two Avengers was already closed Spector tried to convince him to misfile the papers and delay them moving in. Norm had enough of the obvious racism and didn't care to do business with them any longer. He threw them out because he would rather keep his self-respect than work with them and just in case they knew the ones that burnt down Vision and Scarlet Witch's last house he let them know that he oversaw the installation of a state-of-the-art security system on the new house. Spector was not pleased that Norm insinuated that he had something to do with burning down the heroes' previous house.
(Vision and the Scarlet Witch II#6) - Norm attended Vision and Scarlet Witch's thanksgiving party at their new house, meeting the Avengers (Captain America, Sub-Mariner, Wasp), Doctor Strange, Glamor & Illusion and Wonder Man's mother Martha. Crystal, Quicksilver arrived with their daughter Luna a bit later and they were introduced to Norm. Magneto arrived a short time later and Norm had a conversation with Crystal. He asked her if she ever felt lonely on the Moon, but she revealed she was used to it because even back when Attilan was in the Himalayas her people were inaccessible. Norm pointed out she wasn't alone because she was married to Quicksilver and had a child, but Crystal felt Quicksilver spent too much time with his militia. Quicksilver didn't even notice she was talking about him. The party continued and Norm spent more time with Crystal while Scarlet Witch, Vision and Quicksilver took off with Magneto to take on Toad (Mortimer Toynbee) and his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants replicas.
(Vision and the Scarlet Witch II#7 - BTS) - On Christmas Eve Crystal visited Earth and after a short visit to Scarlet Witch, who was busy teaching Holly LaDonna magic, wandered through Leonia while it was snowing and ended up at Norm's place by surprise...or rather because she wanted to.
(Vision and the Scarlet Witch II#7) - Holly LaDonna saw Crystal and Norm kissing each other at his front door.
(Vision and the Scarlet Witch II#8) - Norm watched Crystal burn the Twin Idols of Zor for the Scarlet Witch, who alongside Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Quicksilver and Vision was somewhere else fighting the High Priest of Zor, who sought the idols. Holly LaDonna watched Crystal leave with Norm.
(Vision and the Scarlet Witch II#9) - Crystal spent more time with Norm and was glad she didn't have to sneak around this time because Vision and Scarlet Witch were away on vacation. When Norm brought up the unfortunate fact that she was still married Crystal got upset because they had decided not to talk about this. Norm felt bad for Quicksilver, but Crystal made it clear that Quicksilver didn't care enough to notice because he spent all his time trying to impress her family than to be with her and their daughter. Norm suggested to her to just divorce him, but Crystal replied that it was not that easy because the scandal would cause problems for the Royal Family. Crystal wanted to keep telling Quicksilver that she visited Earth each weekend because she missed it and as long as she took the anti-pollution potion everything was alright and she could be with Norm.
When the anti-pollution potion wore off Crystal took another dose. Norm wondered if she could overdose, but Crystal hoped not because nobody has ever used the potion as extensively as her lately. Moments later she collapsed and nearly stopped breathing. Norm was torn what to do next because even though he knew he needed to get her some help because she was dying nobody could know she was with him.
(Vision and the Scarlet Witch II#10 (fb) ) - Norm carried Crystal to Dr. Shickel, who was baffled by her condition.
(Vision and the Scarlet Witch II#10 (fb) - BTS) - As soon as Vision and Scarlet Witch returned from their vacation Norm told them that he had found Crystal in front of their house while going for a walk. They brought Crystal to the Moon where the Inhumans took care of her.
(Vision and the Scarlet Witch II#10) - Crystal was still in a coma when Scarlet Witch and Vision took Norm to visit her in Attilan on the Moon. He reiterated his lie about how he found Crystal to Medusa and what he did to help her. Norm believed Crystal was trying to visit Vision and Scarlet Witch when she collapsed, but Quicksilver pointed out that Crystal knew that they were on vacation revealing Norm's deception. While Quicksilver stormed off to clear his head, Norm asked Vision to show him around in Attilan. Vison confronted Norm about his lies and Norm admitted it. When Crystal talked while still in her coma Quicksilver overheard her talk about affair with Norman, which angered him so much that he assaulted Norm, who was still with Vision. Quicksilver tried to run off with Norm to take revenge on him for dishonoring him, but Vision stopped him with an energy blast. Members of the Royal Family (Gorgon, Karnak, Medusa) heard Quicksilver's accusations and told him that Black Bolt would judge Norman, but Quicksilver had no interest to let others decide over Norm's fate and sent his militia against Norm. When Quicksilver's militia saw that the Royal Family was protecting Norm they disobeyed Quicksilver's orders. Quicksilver angrily ran off and was hunted down by the Royal Family and Vision while Scarlet Witch had a talk with Norm, who admitted that he had an affair with Crystal, that it was love on first sight and that even though it was just a fling for her he hoped she would feel more for him one day. He revealed that he had asked her tell her husband, but Crystal was too scared of the scandal. Scarlet Witch didn't understand how Crystal could betray her brother, who truly loved her, like that, but Norm pointed out that most people didn't like Quicksilver. Scarlet Witch told Norm to get lost and began to cry.
(Vision and the Scarlet Witch II#11) - Some time later in Leonia Norman accidentally ran into Vision, who was showing around Now Magazine photographer Peter Parker. Vision coldly greeted Norman and then pushed Parker further along to get away from Norman as fast as possible. Norman was saddened that his affair with Crystal had cost him his friendship with Scarlet Witch and Vision. He was even sadder that he had lost Crystal as well because her family was keeping her away from him and despite all that Norman knew he would do it all over again because he loved Crystal.
(Vision and the Scarlet Witch II#12) - Norman passed by Vison and Scarlet Witch's home and was again reminded that he had lost them as friends. Norman was surprised when Crystal appeared and was healthy. She told him how sturdy Inhumans were and that she was in no danger and would be fine as long as she left Earth within an hour again. Norman was happy to see her again and grew even happier when Crystal revealed that her family would grant her the divorce from Quicksilver if he didn't return to her and her daughter shortly. She wanted to see Norman again after her divorce if he still wanted to, which he absolutely did. They hugged before Crystal left again.
(Fantastic Four I#311 (fb) - BTS) - After joining the Fantastic Four Crystal decided to defy her family and call Norman, even though her family had ordered her to stay away from him until after her divorce from Quicksilver.
(Fantastic Four I#311) - Norman met Crystal at Four Freedoms Plaza and she was delighted to see him. He seemed a bit down, which she didn't understand at all. He asked her why she didn't call him before joining the Fantastic Four. Crystal explained the situation, but Norman was sure she had no interest in him anymore because she was back with the Human Torch. Crystal told him that nothing was going on between her and the Human Torch because he was married, but Norman reminded her that she was married as well when they had their affair. Crystal looked beduffled and Norman left after telling her that he just hoped nobody would get hurt this time around.

I love how Englehart created Norm, gave him a purpose and then pretty much wrote him out of existence. Maybe he realized how much the affair hurt Crystal as a character. To this day she is still the cheating wife to me, so whenever Marvel uses her in a relationship I believe her to be lying the whole time. Is Quicksilver a jerk? Absolutely! Is Crystal as well for cheating on him for months while lying to everyone that loved her? Yes!
He was Norm as long as he was friends with everyone and Norman when he became persona non grata. It is pretty weird how self-defeating his last meeting with Crystal was, but he apparently believed he was not good enough even though she clearly wanted to be back with him, but he didn't see it.
