History: (Savage Avengers I#21 (fb)) - When an unidentified "mad king" sent his armies to pillage an unidentified land, the barbarian Conan was sent to assassinate the king but when Conan arrived, he found the king's forces under assault from a fiery, skeletal Spirit of Vengeance riding atop a giant, monstrous spider. Standing away from the battle, Conan witnessed the Spirit lay waste to all who stood before it and kept his pay despite his job being done for him by the Spirit.

(Savage Avengers I#21 - BTS) - In the modern era, the time-displaced Conan fought the modern era's Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze) and recalled his earlier encounter with the Hyborian era Spirit of Vengeance.

(Savage Avengers I#22 - BTS) - While experiencing nightmares, Conan dreamed he had returned to his native Hyborian era and the Spirit Rider was there to brutally welcome him.

Comments: Created by Gerry Duggan and Patch Zircher.

While the Hyborian era Spirit of Vengeance was never directly identified, other than as an ancestor (so to speak) of the modern Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider, Conan refers to a nightmarish vision of the Hyborian rider as "Spirit Rider." Hence, the name of this profile.
