History:
(Sable & Fortune#4 (fb) - BTS) - Sam Kurokawa worked at Smith-Locke Aerospace as a marketing advisor. Smith-Locke was a company that produced weapons and it was a one of Tony Stark's competitors. Sam often worked in closely with the vice president of the company, Kirk Applewood.

Sam and Kirk were not aware that something illegal was secretly going on at the Smith-Lock. A group of corrupt employees illegally sold weapons to a North African terrorist group named the Sword of Glory, an organisation led by Mr. Albasini.

When Applewood found out about the illegal exports he started to investigate and Sam helped him.

What the two still didn't know was that the Sword of Glory was in partnership with a corrupt branch of the Wild Pack, a branch secretly created and led by Andreas Vadas. The Wild Pack's leader, Silver Sable, was still not aware of Vadas' activities.

(Sable & Fortune#1 (fb) - BTS) - At Albasini's request, Vadas planned to eliminate Applewood, eventually. The plan involved Sam, because she was in close contact of the target. She became unwittingly the weapon.

Vadas' chemists created a serum, that, injected in a subject, could transform the person into a murderer. The trigger of the transformation was a phrase, different from subject to subject. The serum was the main merchandise sold by Vadas to the terrorists.

(Sable & Fortune#4 (fb) - BTS) - Sam Kurokawa became the perfect subject: a guinea pig for the serum and the right weapon for Applewood's assassination.

Berecz, an ex-Wild Pack member, was sent by Vadas to the Smith-Locke Aerospace lobby. There, Berecz met Sam and injected her with the serum. Sam became a sleeper assassin.

(Sable & Fortune#1-3 - BTS) - Silver Sable, helped by Dominic Fortune and Jasper Angevine, discovered the Wild Pack's illegal activities. They killed Albasini and managed to send an abort command to all the rogue Wild Pack members involved in the control of the sleepers.

(Sable & Fortune#4 - BTS) - Berecz messed things up. When he received the abort command he guessed (wrongly) that that was the go order and activated the sleeper assassin Sam Kurokawa.

Sam's personality was temporarily overtaken by her murder proramming. She stabbed Applewood to death. Then she went to the ladies bathroom where she fainted. Seconds or hours later Sam, back in control, woke up with blood on her hands, without any knowledge nor recollection of what had happened to her. She was however terrified and fled. She suspected that she was somewhat involved in Applewood's murder but she still left Mississippi and fled to San Diego.

Sam in killing mode (Sable & Fortune#4 (fb) ) - Meanwhile, Silver Sable and Dominic Fortune were searching for the sleeper assassins. One day after Applewood's death, thanks to "Bad" Sebastian, a private investigator that had spied on Smith-Locke Aerospace for Tony Stark, the two could connect Berecz to Sam. Another day passed and they captured Berecz. The mercenary informed them that Sam was in San Diego.

(Sable & Fortune#4) - On the third day after Applewood's assassination, Fortune met Sam Kurokawa in a bar in San Diego, where he started talking to her. When Sam understood that Fortune was looking for a fugitive and that she was the fugitive, she tried to flee. Outside the bar, Silver Sable pronounced the activation phrase, Sam entered into killing mode, but Sable injected her with the antidote.

Once in Sam's condo after further explanations Fortune convinced Sable and Sam to all work together. Sam agreed to take the position as marketing specialist for Sable and Fortune.

Comments: Created by Brendan Cahill and Laurenn McCubbin.

"Little tinsel soldiers" was the triggering phrase for Sam Kurokawa.

Sam accepted the job with Fortune and Sable. We have no hint about an official employment in Silver Sable International. Sable shut the Wild Pack down and restarted several times, hiring different people, so the possibility that Sam is still working for Silver Sable remains open.
