History: (Marvel Holiday Special 2006 (fb) - BTS) - Peggy Park had been an employee of Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.) for some time. She was assigned to B Sector, designated with analyzing the Negative Zone. During her time, she had become acquainted with A.I.M.'s most significant leader M.O.D.O.K. and with the bio-fanatic Arnim Zola. A.I.M.'s criminal operations had resulted in Peggy encountering Captain America and the Hulk in the past.

One year, A.I.M.'s Christmas party was attacked by the Avengers. The subsequent year, A.I.M. held its annual Christmas party on New Year's Eve. Peggy invited a young man from a copy shop named Joel and claimed to him that A.I.M. was a dot-com company. It so happened that at the same time as the party, A.I.M. had captured the Hulk and imprisoned him inside the same facility where the party was being held.

(Marvel Holiday Special 2006) - As guests such as Doctor Octopus, Batroc the Leaper, Arnim Zola, the Absorbing Man and Titania filed in to the A.I.M. Christmas party, Peggy greeted Joel and thanked him for agreeing to be her date. Suddenly, an A.I.M. Adaptoid grabbed Joel and began scanning him for superhuman powers to determine if he was a threat. Peggy explained to the Adaptoid that Joel was her date and to release him. When Joel pressed Peggy for more information on her employers, she admitted that A.I.M. was "a global techno-anarchic organization bent on world domination" but also that "we're not totally evil."

Paul and Joel overheard M.O.D.O.K. telling a woman at the party that he wanted to be known as "M.O.D.O.F." - "Mental Organism Designed Only for Fun!" Peggy admitted she wasn't sure whether that was the original M.O.D.O.K. or one of his clones, commenting that she'd have to check her "official handbook." Just as Joel thought the giant-headed M.O.D.O.K. was the weirdest thing he'd seen in his life, the headless Arnim Zola walked past joking "which way to the head?" Seeing Joel was dumbstruck by Zola, Peggy assumed Joel thought Zola's joke was terrible and consoled him with "I'm sorry. It's his one joke."

At one minute to midnight, Joel admitted to Peggy that he'd had a good time at the party and would like to come again next year. He was about to kiss Peggy as the countdown to midnight started when the Christmas party was interrupted by the Hulk escaping from A.I.M.'s confinement, setting off a "Green Alert." Joel mused that perhaps next year they should spend Christmas at his workplace.

Watching the chaos the Hulk caused, Peggy mused that "We're always asking, 'How can we capture the Hulk?' when we should be asking... 'Should we capture the Hulk?'" As the Hulk's rampage continued, Peggy warned Joel that a hero such as Captain America would probably appear shortly and advised him to call a cab then forget he ever met her. However, Joel seemed to be unfazed by the outbreak of violence. Noting mistletoe still hanging overhead, Joel gave Peggy a New Year's Eve kiss.

Comments: Created by Andrew Farago, Shaenon K. Garrity and Ron Lim.

The story Peggy appeared in was published in Marvel Holiday Special 2006 like a framing sequence. It was only 4 pages long but each page appeared in front of another Marvel Christmas feature. It wasn't an actual framing sequence though - the pages themselves did not segue into the other features. Basically, each page ended on a joke and so could be read as individual tales.

Based on her surname, Peggy is probably Korean-American.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Peggy Park should not be confused with:

Joel

Joel was a young man who worked at a copy shop. He somehow encountered Peggy Park and was invited to be her date at the annual A.I.M. Christmas party on New Year's Eve. However, Joel did not realize A.I.M. was a criminal organization, believing Peggy's story that her employers were a dot-com enterprise.

When Joel arrived at the party, he was analyzed by an Adaptoid who checked to see whether he had superhuman powers due to a previous incident of the Avengers crashing the A.I.M. party. Peggy vouched for Joel and the Adaptoid released him. It was only then that Peggy admitted A.I.M. was a criminal organization bent on world domination. As Joel became accustomed to the atmosphere, he thought at first that M.O.D.O.K. was the weirdest thing he would ever see but was then stunned to see the headless bio-fanatic Arnim Zola. Despite the weirdness, Joel enjoyed the party and was about to kiss Peggy at midnight when the party was interrupted by the Hulk, who had escaped confinement by A.I.M. While the Hulk smashed up the building, Peggy thought their date had been ruined and assumed Joel would never want to see her again but once again, Joel proved to be an understanding date. Pointing to some mistletoe over their heads which had withstood the Hulk's rampage, the two had a New Year's Eve kiss.
