(Avengers 1959#1 (fb) - BTS) - In Wakanda, in 1959, N'Taka represented
the Wakandan government when American delegates of Icon, led by
Geoffrey Sydenham, arrived for a meeting. N'Taka informed the Americans
that the soon-to-be king was off on a spiritual retreat. N'Taka agreed
to give certain technology to Sydenham for the United States government
to use so long as he kept the meeting discreet.
(Avengers 1959#1) - N'Taka walked Sydenham to his helicopter, wishing him well. As he flew away, he bragged that he'd lied to N'Taka.
