(Longshot I#3 (fb) - BTS) - Overburdened with bills and frustrated with power company's Con Ed's high bills despite their multi-million dollar diamond investment, Theo felt  disempowered by the world and annoyed with continued nagging from wife Inez with disruptions from his three children and disobedient puppy Poochy-Poo. He'd been nicknamed Jinx for his string of bad luck.

(Longshot I#3) - Needing quiet time away from his wife, children and TV adverts, Jinx went to the bathroom and brushed his teeth when he realized that this was a continuing cycle. Wishing to end it, he took his handgun from a drawer (which scared his family), shot the TV and  left quietly into the night. He jumped from a bridge in a suicide attempt but landed on Longshot's body, who was recovering from a near-fatal injury. Jinx hauled him to the riverbank, but Longshot realized Jinx's reason for being there and told him to embrace life; instead Jinx again tried to kill himself and Longshot again saved him. Hearing of Jinx's plight with Con Ed, he encouraged Jinx to join him on an adventure to steal the special diamonds and they soon found the Con Ed base. Longshot's luck allowed them to infiltrate the base and find the diamonds, but Mojoworld forces arrived to apprehend Longshot. Gog, whom Longshot had naively thought a friend, pulled Jinx back while Mojoworld agents Magog and Spiral took the special diamonds and teleported away after tying Longshot up. Gog released Jinx but was aggressive as Jinx freed Longshot. Jinx and Longshot escaped the Con Ed base and Longshot offered Jinx the few diamonds Magog had left behind, but Jinx refused as they were stolen. Tired of adventure, having been injured and lost teeth, Jinx picked flowers to return home and apologize, yet also glad he didn't have to brush his teeth anymore. Valuing the life he had, he wandered back to his family.
