History:

(real life) - Tokugawa Ieyasu was a famous War Hero, born on January 31, 1543 in Japan.

(Marvel Atlas I#1 - BTS) - Japan's civil wars were eventually brought to an end by three successive warlords: Oda Nobunaga, Hideyoshi and Tokugawa who became its ruler.

(Marvel Atlas I#1 - BTS) - In 1603, Tokugawa relocated Japan's capitol to Edo (modern-day Tokyo) and forced the isolation of Japan from virtually all outside influence.

(ClanDestine I#8 (fb) - BTS) - In 1615, siblings Albert and Gracie Destine protected the shogun Tokugawa during a coup in Japan. Their father, the immortal Adam was on his way to help his children but stumbled upon an alien invasion, after dealing with the extraterrestrials he presumably continued his voyage to assist Albert and Gracie.

(real life) - In 1616, Tokugawa Ieyasu died at age 73.

(Wolverine: Netsuke I#4 - BTS) - In modern times, X-Man Wolverine was mysteriously transported into the body of Kiyoshi in ancient Japan, he encountered the ghosts of two deceased children; Hiro and Akira. The ghost reminded Kiyoshi they had died five years before Lord Tokugawa pulled the Shogunate together because of Kiyoshi's reckless disregard. Hearing of Tokugawa's name made Wolverine realize he was in a different time-period.
