History:

(Spider-Man: Marvels Snapshots#1 (fb) - BTS) - With New York as his home, as a youth, Victor "Dutch" Hollander was already involved in petty crime and sent to juvenile crime. Once outside, he realized he had a knack for customizing monster model kits to appear more realistic. His friend was Ronnie Schatz, similarly engaged in minor criminal activities.

Although generally dissatisfied with life, Dutch was happy engaging in petty crime until increasingly more costumed people with super-powers or augmented with advanced technology showed up.

(Spider-Man: Marvels Snapshots#1) - Dutch walked with Ronnie down subway tracks as an escape route after Ronnie stole an ATM cash machine using anti-gravity gloves he'd hired from the Tinkerer, but they stumbled across Spider-Man and Silvermane engaged in a fierce fight. Unable to cleanly pass with the levitating ATM, they dumped the cash machine and went separate ways via trains. Back in his apartment with his customized monster kits, Dutch thought about less complicated times until Ronnie suddenly appeared using a handheld teleporter. To alleviate tension, the duo had a drink at a nearby bar where Dutch met Ronnie's sister, Vivian. Instant mutual attraction led to months of dating between Dutch and Vivian, and Dutch curbed his criminal activities; the couple made plans to move away from New York for a fresh start.

Working casual jobs as bartenders, the couple were confronted by Ronnie, who suggested that they would still need large savings for the move. Thinking about his future with Vivian, Dutch secretly met with Ronnie (who hoped to steal an armored suit and become a villain), but was caught by an angry Vivian. Walking back to their apartment while Daredevil fought a ninja on nearby rooftops, Dutch was remorseful, but Vivian instead chose to turn a blind eye, also seeing the advantage to scoring fast money. Several months passed until the opportunity arose, and Ronnie and Dutch got ready in a van while Iron Fist and Luke Cage fought Comanche and Shades, obstructing traffic. Ronnie and Dutch heisted the unmarked van carrying the Force armor. Ronnie put word out the armor was for sale, but this instead started a destructive manhunt by the Hand, Hobgoblin (Kingsley) and Maggia, but it was Blacklash (Scarlotti) who found them and demanded the Force suit. Suddenly Spider-Man dropped in, distracting the villain, and Ronnie and Dutch ran off. Recognizing their luck, Ronnie followed Dutch's idea to sell the Force armor cheap to the less-dangerous Tinkerer, who would circulate that Ronnie and Dutch no longer had the armor. Ronnie still had faith he could crack into super-villainy, but Dutch emphasized that they were only ever small-time crooks. Dutch took what little money was his share and Vivian dismissed the notion to wait until more money was saved before moving. Car and trailer loaded, Dutch and Vivian bypassed a fight between Falcon (Sam Wilson) and Electro (Max Dillon), and drove to California.
