History:
(All-New Wolverine#7 (fb) - BTS) - Squirrel Girl saved squirrels and Jonathan the wolverine from a lab where they were experimented on.

(All-New Wolverine#31 (fb) - BTS) - Dr. Boreland ran a laboratory where he experimented on animals, including Jonathan and his family.

(All-New Wolverine#31 - BTS) - Gabby went with Jonathan on a walk and led her to the building where he was experimented on. Gabby called Deadpool for help and he agreed to break into the lab with her. They knocked out two guards and a doorman with chloroform before Deadpool opened the cages from the computer in the foyer. They entered Testing Hall A and ran into a bunch of zombie rabbits, squirrels and a sloth. They sliced them to pieces.

Meanwhile Wolverine (Laura Kinney) arrived outside and was told by the guards that Gabby aka. Honey Badger and Deadpool were inside on their way to Dr. Boreland. Wolverine soon found Honey Badger and Deadpool with the slaughtered zombie animals.

(All-New Wolverine#31) - Boreland stepped out from a door with "THE PIT" painted on. He wielded a shotgun and screamed at everyone to drop on the floor. Deadpool didn't take him serious while Wolverine actually confronted Boreland about being responsible for the zombie animals. He admitted that he created these creatures and was actually proud that he could achieve this in secret. Deadpool was interested what the Pit was and opened the door. They found zombie wolverines in a pit. Jonathan recognized them as his family. Honey Badger, Deadpool and Wolverine were shocked. Boreland threatened to shoot Jonathan, who was pretty angry, but Wolverine sliced through his shotgun. Boreland was so frightened of Jonathan that he stepped back until he fell into the Pit and was apparently killed by the zombie wolverines.

(All-New Wolverine#31 - BTS) - Deadpool handed Honey Badger some gasoline and they set the building on fire.

In All-New Wolverine#7 (June, 2016) Squirrel Girl brought Jonathan to Laura and Gabby. She revealed to Laura that she had saved Jonathan from experiments.

I don't know why, but he looks a bit like an Al to me.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Doctor Boreland has no known connection:

zombie animals

Doctor Boreland's zombie animals were stitched together parts of different corpses revived by some unknown means. They were far more ferocious than they were supposed to be.

Deadpool and Honey Badger fought their way through zombie rabbits, squirrels and a sloth, destroying them all. Boreland later fell into the pit with Jonathan's zombified wolverine family and was killed by them.

All the remaining zombified animals were presumably destroyed when the building was burnt down by Deadpool and Honey Badger.
