Due to some genetic mutation or perhaps because of the mental influence of Maximus the Mad, RN-62 showed signs of rebellion and leadership among his people. Later, after being exposed to Terrigenesis, RN-62 mutated into a super-strong and muscular version of himself, one who carried a spear in combat and grew accustomed to leading his people against their foes.

History: (Avengers I#127 (fb) – BTS) – Maximus the Mad spent weeks coaching and mentally influencing the Alpha Primitives into forming a rebellion against the Inhuman Royal Family and their leader became RN-62. Maximus predicted that an ally would be arriving to aid in the Alpha Primitive rebellion.

(Avengers I#127) – RN-62 led the others to meet their newly arrived ally, Ultron, and the robot said he was ready for the rebellion to begin, now that the Avengers were in Attilan. As the Primitives rushed an Inhuman celebration, they saw that Medusa and Iron Man (under mental control) were declaring their intent to kill the Alpha Primitives and RN-62 announced that Black Bolt had sent them to do so. After Omega was controlled by Ultron and kidnapped Crystal, a group of Avengers (Mantis, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Swordsman, Thor, Vision) came to question the Alpha Primitives, assuming they were responsible, and RN-62 yelled how tired they were of Black Bolt's rule. Quicksilver attacked them but Mantis stopped him. As Quicksilver and Mantis both collapsed, also under mental control, the Alpha Primitives attacked, swarming the Royal Family, the Avengers and the Fantastic Four with their superior numbers. Maximus turned against the Primitives with a laser gun and Omega soon joined the Primitives in their battle, even as more heroes succumbed to the mental attacks, falling unconscious. As the rest of the heroes succumbed to the mind control, Ultron finally revealed he was behind Omega's attacks.

(Fantastic Four I#150 – BTS) – Ultron/Omega was defeated by Franklin Richards and the Alpha Primitive uprising was quelled.

(Avengers Unplugged I#6 (fb) – BTS) – The Alpha Primitives formed their own society outside of Attilan but still within the Inhuman city limits. When the Terrigen mists were breached, they mutated many in the Inhuman populace with secondary mutations, disfiguring most of them, and it also mutated many of the Alpha Primitives including RN-62, who grew taller and more muscular and began carrying a spear. The Orb of Agon was placed, forming a Negative Zone barrier that would stop the Terrigen Mists from infecting the Earth's populace. One couple of Alpha Primitives married each other and, despite the fact that they were created to be genderless, they soon conceived a child. RN-62 led the other Primitives in defending their people against the attacking Inhumans, who sought to destroy the Orb of Agon. When the Ebony Blade appeared beneath the Orb, the Primitives realized that no one could pull it free, not even their strongest. Calling the blade the Sword of Might, the Primitives determined that whoever pulled the blade free would be their leader.

(Avengers Unplugged I#6) – Crystal landed in the middle of the Primitives fighting off the invading Inhumans. After RN-62 explained the situation to Crystal, she shocked them all by pulling free the Ebony Blade and the Primitives bowed before her. Overcome with blood thirst, Crystal nearly claimed the life of the Primitive who had fathered the unborn child but Crystal resisted the urge and flew away on the steed Valinor, charging the Primitives to continue protecting the Orb.
