Comments: Created by Tom Brevoort and Mike Kanterovich.

Godhead appeared in an article discussing the increasing deployment of villains as the stars of stories, and in particular villains who were extreme versions of the heroes they faced. The article then speculated how the trend might continue. Thus, if Thor was good and Thunderstrike was better, then Godhead was best. Though tongue-in-cheek, there's nothing that would prevent him existing in 616.
