History:
(Giant-Size Rune#1/1 (fb) - BTS) - The man who came
to be known as "el Gato" had his ultra powers "jumpstarted", and was
gifted with super speed. He used this power as a vigilante to apprehend
criminals in Mexico and became popular with the local population.
Meanwhile, an unknown assailant (actually Rune) had already killed at
least 23 ultras across North and South America.
(Giant-Size Rune#1/1) - The vampiric otherworldly
creature Rune pursued el Gato, who eventually tired. Rune grasped the
hero and squeezed the blood and power out of el Gato. Later, the
detective Janus looked over the corpse while the American reporter
Andie McLaughlin reported on the continuing slaughter of ultras.
(Giant-Size Rune#1/1 (fb) - BTS) - Police remained
baffled at the crime and even consulted psychics. The Mexican
government declared a national day of mourning for their fallen hero.
