History: (Spider-Man & the Endangered Species! Giant Color-and-Learn Book (fb) - BTS) - From his headquarters in the city sewers, the Ferrett began kidnapping various animals on the endangered species list from the city zoo using the sewer grates within the animals' cages. After kidnapping each animal, the Ferrett anonymously sent ransom letters demanding $1,000,000 in exchange for the animals' safe return.

(Spider-Man & the Endangered Species! Giant Color-and-Learn Book) - Learning of the animal kidnappings after being sent to the city zoo to take photographs for the Daily Bugle, Peter Parker witnessed some of the animals seemingly disappearing and quickly took photos, which he later developed and noticed that each missing animal's cage had a sewer grate. Returning to the zoo as Spider-Man, Peter entered one of the grates and ended up in the sewers, where he soon found the missing animals. Before he could act, however, the Ferrett discovered Spider-Man and exclaimed his plans to add Spider-Man to his collection. Easily defeating the Ferrett by webbing him up, Spider-Man found his way back to the zoo using the sewer tunnels and turned the Ferrett over to police. The Ferrett was then placed in jail.

Comments: Created by Liza Hamill, Gary Brodsky, Brian Moore, Joe Sinnott and Mike Esposito.

That's not a misprint...the Ferrett really did spell his codename with two T's.

I apologize for the bad lighting on the images but the Giant Color-and-Learn Book was just that...giant! The book stands at around 2 feet tall, which was way bigger than my scanner! Therefore, I had to take photos of the book pages with my cellphone camera & the lighting isn't the greatest.

At one point, Spider-Man finds the animals in the sewers by lighting a match. Given all of the umm let's just say gas (among other things) in the sewer, I'm not sure lighting a match was the most intelligent way to see the animals...
