History:

(Our Love Story#2/3) - Jan Fenton's mother married an older man, but he was killed in the Korean War, so Jan did not remember much of him.

(Our Love Story#1/3 (fb) - BTS) - Aged 17, Jan Fenton injured her ankle and was confined to a wheelchair. Her mother hired Fred Roberts to tutor the girl to improve her college entrance exam scores.

(Our Love Story#1/3) - Introduced to each other, there was immediate attraction between Jan and Fred, regardless of the 10-year age gap. Fred was cautious and lacked confidence, but Jan was more overt in declaring her love for him. Days passed and Jan's ankle healed. Fred purposely remained cold, joking about romance, but Jan was completely smitten. Despite his feelings for her, he felt she deserved someone younger, so he set up a date with Jan at a seedy bar and showed brash behavior to repel her. His plan worked and they parted forlorn.

(Our Love Story#2/3 (fb) - BTS) - Despite separating, each romantically kept a photo of the other.

(Our Love Story#2/3) - Hoping to cheer her daughter up, Jan's mother paired her up with wealthy neighbor's son Robert Wilton. Despite his best efforts, Jan remained in love with Fred, spare moments consumed with her memories of Fred. Because of her emotional distance, Robert left her alone and successive dates with other men showed Jan that they were just imitations and distractions from her true love. She later spoke with her mother, who was initially concerned about the lovers' age difference, but also recognized the maturity her own husband had brought. Jan's mother encouraged Jan to track Fred down. She soon found his school and the two quickly wrapped in a passionate kiss that fueled their mutual love.

Comments: Created by uncredited writer (possibly Stan Lee), John Buscema (pencils), John Romita (inks).

The stories were later reprinted several times.

These romance stories often had the flavor of the time in which they were written, and nothing else to tie them into Marvel's sliding timescale. As such, it's likely that the stories took place at the time of publication rather than being part of the sliding timescale.

CLARIFICATIONS :
Jan Fenton has no known connections to:

Fred Roberts

In his late 20s, Fred Roberts was a teacher at a local high school and could privately tutor, specializing in literature and the French language. He was employed to tutor Jan Fenton (she was aged 17) when she was injured to help her college entrance exam scores. He and Jan were instantly attracted to each other, but Fred was very cautious due to the 10-year age difference. He loved her so much but lacked self-confidence, so he deliberately and dramatically pushed her away, and they separated. However, both still held deep feelings toward the other. Later, Jan tracked him down to his school and the two rekindled their romance with a passionate kiss
