History: (Back Issue I#111) - Following the defeat of Ultron, the Avengers celebrated in bizarre ways, including Vision piggy-back riding Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man riding on the back of the flying Wasp and Captain America strutting around. Their post-Ultron antics were cataloged in Marvel Comics by artist R. Crumb, who worked for the comics company.

Comments: Created by Karl Heitmueller, Jr.

Back Issue is a magazine published by TwoMorrows Publishing focusing on articles, interviews and themes of Bronze Age comic books. Issue #111 (where this "What If?" scenario originated)'s theme was alternate realities and occasionally, Back Issue includes a two-page comic strip by Karl Heitmueller, Jr. called Prince Street News. In the case of #111, the two-page comic was titled "Alternate Alternate Realities" and featured several panels of unlikely and humorous alternate realities. In the case of the one in this profile, the gag was "What If...R. Crumb Did Work for Marvel Comics?" In addition, there is a copyright notice in the Prince Street News article stating that these Avengers are copyrighted by Marvel, making me think that he indeed is part of Marvel's multiverse.

None of the individual Avengers were named on-panel but we can presume their codenames by comparing them to their Earth-616 counterparts. One could argue that they might have different codenames in this reality.

Profile by Proto-Man.
